so this means if i back up my 1.5 firmware now, if a future kernel mode hack comes for 2.01+ i can upgrade and downgrade at will? :P
post #1!
This is great news for 1.0 users! and you're right, this is revolutionary!
WELL DONE!
sorry, n00b question but..
whats the advantage of 1.0 vs 1.5?
Quite possible, but first we need to get more than the limited usermode that's available for 2.01+.
I wouldn't risk it right now though.
looks like we have some good progess here. slowly sony, we inch closer to the ultimate goal of ultimate downgrading for iso capability! mwhaha!
Please don't upgrade upwards of 2.0.
And if possible, not even above 1.5. Nobody can guarantee the results of this tool if you go over 1.5
props to this guy. made it easy for all those 1.0'ers that never wanted to update. 1.0 & 1.5 oooo !!!
there's not much point in upgrading to 1.0, there's only a few extra games that work with it. Most games now need 2.0+ so you're knackered whichever firmware you use (at least until a new loader is released anyway)
You'r not realy upgrading or downgrading to 1.00, you'r just restoring your flash from you'r origional 1.00 firmware
the only reason anyone would do this is so they can upgrade to 1.50 in the knowlage that if any custom firmware comes out (most likely any custom firmware will only be usable on 1.00)
they can replace the origional flash.
1.00 isnt better than 1.50, the best way to describe it is 2.00 without the webbrowser and any new game support etc. but homebrew is accessable through game menu without any exploit.
Zodionic
Isn't it possible if someone backed up their 1.0 files and hosted it on the internet so a person with 1.5 PSP could copy the 1.0 files to the memory stick and downgrade?
no, read the post
"I'll assume that all the files in the flash are somehow encrypted differently for every PSP. That's why it isn't accepting files from a different PSP. It will only restore your firmware if the backup is taken on your own PSP."
Plz read the full article next time to get answers
what the hell?
did you not read the full article?
That's neat...but if only it worked on ALL 1.50 firwares to downgrade to 1.00 firmware... Either way though, eXcellent WORK!!!
There is a Backup of a 1.00 somewhere just have to find it (dont google go to other psp news sites)
But Pretty much useless to like 97% of the people who are lookin at this..
I suppose theoreticly, one could go all the way up to 2.0 with this.. Backup, upgrade to 2.0, downgrade to 1.5, restore with restore tools.
but then again, if its only good for 1.0 users who cares I guess...
at least this gets people one step closer to being able to downgrade to 1.0
what if somebody made a generator that you put ur mac address in or sumthin and it will make a personal 1.0 backup

Good Idea but only if it came out like a year ago, I think most people who had 1.0 psp's is already at 1.5, but its better late than never ;)
If you have a 1.0 PSP, is it possible to upgrade any further past 1.5 and then back down, or is 1.5 the limit?
Also I thought that when you use the 2.0 downgrader, your PSP becomes 1.0 until you upgrade to 1.5. Is this not true 1.0 or something? Did Sony ever release 1.0 PSP's in the U.S.?
I remember he is going to make a downgrader by using the mobo board.
this is cool. You should compile this one and the 2.0-1.5 downgrader all in 1.
i really really really hope that he does what is on alot of peeps minds. that is to find a way to downgrade from 2.7. hopeless wish i know, but a valid one. luckily I have a 1.5 also...
Keep them Hacks a-coming doob!!!
if i only my psp was still a 1.00...
Gotta love the Lilith dinnerware.
1. Excellent Lilith Dinnerware.
2. I *****ing love 0okm!
3. Start work on 2.6!
Go you *****ing Genius!
This is somewhat of a good idea but I kinda see it pointless. I mean both 1.5 and 1.0 can play homebrew right so why upgrade and downgrade. Maybe just to play some iso's or homebrew then yeah I get the idea but still.
does this run gta ?
[RaiderX] Said: liek
lol. liek.
Could something like this be done for 2.x firmware? For example, 2.0 > 2.60 > 2.0?
