Team AoP ceases development for now - Image 1

Originally posted Sept 18, 2007 at 2:34AM

We've just received word that new developers Team AoP have temporarily ceased development on all of their projects until further notice. The news comes just after Team M33 released their own statement, saying that it would take longer for them to develop a new custom firmware.

According to a statement by Team AoP, personal problems and testing issues were behind the ceasing of development. However, a recent edit also mentioned that they weren't completely going to stop. Yanko, team leader for AoP had this to say: "We simply have some reconsidering too (sic) do. lol but were (sic) back to the drawing board to realllly (sic) blow m33 outta the water."

In any event, we certainly hope both teams the best of luck with their development. After all, we're all part of the same homebrew community, after all.

We're not exactly sure yet what made the wind change its course, but apparently, Team AoP will NOT be ceasing development after all. This was the update posted on PSP Crazy only hours after the original announcement that the Team will be going on some form of hiatus after all the controversies surrounding them.

So, they will be continuing work on that custom firmware after all. Again, we don't know what made them retract their previous announcement this soon, but regardless of that, the news is that they've jumped right back on the wagon.

Stay tuned for more updates on this!

Thanks to eazy dawg for the tip!

basically they are waiting for m33 to release 3.71 m33 so they can just copy it easily and not have 2 bother with all the coding that has prevented m33. otherwise they just have cold feet. lets just stick with a source we already know is reliable

   Re: deadman855 - 2007-09-18
 » wow

took u guys this long to post the article? know i sent u guys a message like 30 minutes after they announced they ceased. and i talked to one of the AoP members they claimed everything they have is they're own. only thing is they took a few things from Dax but then again so did M33. i think M33 just cant stand competition and have to ***** and complain
   by RamizzlE1412 - 2007-09-18
 » hmm...

as1212, yeah let's stick with the reliable one.....would that be the one that got thousands of PSPs bricked?

   Re: RamizzlE1412 - 2007-09-18
 » one more thing

who ever posted that article....thanks for giving me credit on creating it on pspcrazy.......;(

   Re: Silver-Tiger - 2007-09-18
 » well...

well.... M33 was reliable in case you doesn't downloaded it from the lamer site ps3*****.
Also, it wasn't M33's fault that bricked the PSPs. The loosers of the site changed the installer of the CFW, so blame them, not M33.

So, if you have no clue what's going on, SHUT UP AND LEAVE!

 » So what

The scene doesn't need a bull***** team to copy someone elses work, then just add a custom theme and some pointless plugins and call it there own work.

   by as1212 - 2007-09-18
 » agree

well sed uncertaingod and as for ramizzie1412. yeah ok they shouldnt have taken it out us but come on. look what they have done. we already have 3.52. we dont need another. i mean let these guys have a go, nbut im sure most people dont need their work that seems to already copy others.

Gogogo Team M33 you guys rock..

As for AOP BACK OFF!!!!

   Re: WarLord - 2007-09-18
» How about you back off?

At least they're trying to present something to the community. Just because you favor one team over another doesn't mean you should flame the one you're not interested in. It's not fair considering:

a) Their work is free
b) It's not even out yet

Give the guys a chance. If you can't do that, then just ignore them. Don't make a federal case out of it.

   Re: dzdragonzd - 2007-09-18
 » okie...

aite, I shouldn't have pick side but right now i choose M33 cuz the did a awesome job.

As for AOP I really hope that you guys bring something Badass when releasing your Firmware. When hat time come I be your support .. *****luck

   Re: Chaoticgamer - 2007-09-18
 » RE:dzdragonzd

Dude quit talking bull.

Why are you being such an arse?
Team AOP seems like a very good team. But they probably gave up realizing that using themes that they didnt make and naming it their own is wrong which is probably why they backed off.:(

Oh well to bad.Bye AOP!

 » .

i mean Dax gave out his source code. you cant friggin copyright someone elses source code so why the hell is M33 is complaining? do they fear this new firmware will blow all of there stuff out of the water?

   Re: UncertainGod - 2007-09-18
 » I call bull*****

D_A never gave the source code out to just anybody in order to prevent lame 'teams' like this from forming, from what everyone has seen of this firmware they havn't even coded anything original, all it seems to be is a custom theme, a plugin to display the battery %, a plugin to lock the PSP with a password and a couple of other easily do-able yourself things. If they actually go away and come back with something they have built themselves then all credit to them, but I seriously doubt that will happen.
   by deadman855 - 2007-09-18
 » question

if indeed all it was is a custom theme and a cheap ass plugin. dont you think it be out now? but no they announced this months ago. hell i could slap on a custom theme and plugin and change the custom firmware to read deadmans 3.52 and shove it out in hours if i coded. well if DA never gave out the source just to anyone how did AoP get ahold of it? some noob leaker? regardless it wasnt stolen they are just like M33*but less *****y* except they take awhile so get the ***** over it

   Re: Justingraziano - 2007-09-18
 » Ha noob

What will it take to make you happy? Killing the Playstation president? M33 got a custom firmware on the "unhackable" PSP Slim within days and you say there *****ty. I'd like to see AoP or even DAX himself do that.

 » No your not

Your not blowing M33 anywhere cause I wouldn't download the piece of crap you call a firmware even if you paid me. It's M33 or OE for me ONLY. I don't like modded crap.

   by deadman855 - 2007-09-18
 » .

i wont lie m33 has had alot of complishments. but that doesnt give them the right to try to drive away any other firmware dev team. inless M33 is scared that AoP's firmware was gonna be better and was gonna take future ideas that M33 might use.

   by JaXeRiR - 2007-09-18
 » LLOLL

These guys just got scared after M33 saying that they will look on to AoP's sources and see if they have stolen code.

So now there's just two big makers anymore.

Hmm I was about to say, "So long and thanks for all the custom firmware" but then I remembered that these guys haven't released anything yet.

i'm gonna laugh when they make a firmware that is so great that all these noobs start using it.

You guys are all acting like a bunch of winy little kids who don't like broccoli just because it's green. You are bashing something you haven't even experienced yet. You know what makes a better CFW? COMPETITION! How would we get to where we are today if it wasn't for competition? Team AoP did not copy M33 in anyway. You guys should really read what you typed because you all are just making yourself look like *****s.

Oh and I meant to post :) instead of ;( on my reply lol.

 » Re: eh?

Here's an idea, how about you start educating yourself on stuff before deciding if it's good or bad? Then you would know OE was great before upgrading, and AoP is crap not even worth trying.

 » WTF

where the hell did the two people who said their racist get that i dea rom. Maybe your the racist SOBs that think everything is racist.

go home and stop complaining.

Even if this was "a lame plugin" so what, these lame plugins are useful to some and can help increase the usability and stability of a firmware.

M33 has no right to accuse them of stealing their source, if they decompiled it, its theres to use, since M33 doesnt own the rights to it, Sony does. If you ask me M33 and all its die hard supporters are the racist, or to be more specific, russian supremacists.

My suggestion to all you whiny little kids, go home and drown yourself-- the russian way.

Of course I'm gonna have their side on this. First off it's really *****in homo how you guys are judging them when they haven't released anything. 2nd I've been a registered member of PSPCrazy (where this Team started from) for more than two years now. Lastly, I'm a beta tester for them....
