PSP CFW 3.95 GEN - Image 1

If you guys are hot on your toes waiting for the release of the highly-anticipated Custom Firmware 3.95 GEN, you might want to take a break first cos it will, unfortunately, take a little more while.

MaGiXien has sent us an email informing us that due to technical problems on their site, the launch of CFW 3.95 GEN will be delayed by a few hours. According to him, ever since the release date was announced, they experienced server issues. To make things worse, the technical service apparently could not be of  any help to them as majority of the technicians were on their holidays.

Although things are running smoother now, it did cost them precious hours for the completion and finalization of the readme and other important stuff. As such, MaGiXien sends out his apologies that they cannot release the CFW on the promised time.

He does stress, however, that the release is NOT CANCELLED, but is merely pushed back a few hours. So just be a little more patient "until tomorrow," he says. That "until tomorrow" will specifically be on Sunday, at 1:00PM, Paris.

So there. Looks like they're really doing their best to serve out to you 3.95 GEN. In the meantime, go enjoy the weekend. Before you know it, it would have been released.

*Update* It appears that the developers are making good progress with CFW 3.95 GEN. MaGiXien emailed us several minutes ago to confirm that the custom firmware will indeed be available at 1:00 p.m. today (Paris time).

 » O RLY?

Because, you know, you can't host it on Rapidshare... or Sendspace... or ... any of the other dozens of hosting sites.

Excuses, excuses.

comon freeplay there trying its not easy to do this,,, this has took awhile but i think it will be worth it. lets just be painant

but he's right. there's tons of file hosts out there. tis simply not an excuse.

 » network update

what about network update? Those hosting sites will not work for this.

   Re: 3vi1 - 2008-05-31
 » @Exeter

You can't use network update to jump from M33 (or original) firmware to this version. Those firmwares point to specific servers.

   Re: c74gta4smash - 2008-06-01
 » Meh, Rapidshare.

IMHO rapidshare is my least favorite. You get time delayed and divided downloads. Mediafire to me works best. But calm down. It's not like we have to wait more weeks.

FreePlay's far too right... I get the feeling this is never being released, but y'know/

   Re: Dr1ver - 2008-06-01
 » come one

why would you want it hosted on another site when it is your program! they could just send it to qj and they could host it but there not going to untill it has be released by them first.

its basicly a safety procution so that no spoofs while be out there when they release it.

also if stuff that is needed for the release is on a server that is down or they cant access they will have to wait untill they can get hold of it.

just give the guys a chance to get it sorted and it will be out in next to no time.

 » for shame

If this is the real freeplay, you should be ashamed of your self as a developer. In case everybody forgot, even DAX had to delay 3.9 to strieghten out his servers. And what if Max is Dax. Wouldn't be the first time. The firmware is obviously original, and not a hex edit, like BS helldax was. as it still has recovery, that means it uses modules from Dax's installer. This is the internet and people can be as anonymouse or as full of sh*t as they want. It's out now so shame on everybody who talked sh*t.

 » what bout network update

because the cfw we have only goes to daxes server or the official server.even if you have 3.93 its still not an option.you still go to daxes server and load 3.90 m33-3 irregardless.
we dont have the gen server yet.this cfw is posed to include that option if im not mistaken

So does this delay actually surprise anyone?

   Re: UltimaArmorX - 2008-05-31
 » Not the slightest bit.

Because I still say we don't need it.
It, being CFW 3.95 GEN.

whatta a loser making promises, sleeping all day...

   by c74gta4smash - 2008-06-01
 » Meh> Hangin in there

It's not like I'm gonna really need the features. And if I download it, there's no way in hell this is going on my PSP until a bug report and good compatibility is announced. CFW3.93 was disappointing because everything worked except my beloved snes9xTYLcm and a few other things. It was waste of time and I ended up NAND restoring back to the safe 3.90M33-2.

Right, as soon as it sets foot on the internet, I'm gonna click download right away!

this guy sucks

This guy really sucks
its already 1:00 pm and still nothing :S
   by UNP - 2008-06-01
 » You know what?

To all the people whinging about lateness and slackness and breaking promises...

This new CFW, the same as the other ones, is being made FOR you, completely for FREE, with no work required on your part. The guy is getting nothing out of this except (supposedly) your gratitude. If you don't like that it's going to be a bit late, either create your own custom firmware and make sure it is entirely bug-free and workable...

OR SHUT THE ***** UP. Honestly. Talk about the extremes of ingratitude. I hope it bricks your PSPs past the point of repair even with a Pandora.

*****ing *****s.

 » unp

i agree with you UNP,these ungreatful bastards.these guys are trying to keep you updated on the latest CFW and all you guys can do is ***** and whine, get a life or get off your dead asses and create a CFW yourself.

   Re: Triompf - 2008-06-01
 » I agree

But one thing is for sure he's not making his promising

   Re: SkipperWarlock - 2008-06-01
 » I am grateful

As I stated in a previous topic about this CFW, the guys making this cfw have my utmost respect and gratitude, I was just bringing up the point that it's not surprising it was delayed, as pretty much every "underdog release" of psp homebrew has been.

 » Question about Popsloader Compatability

Does anybody know if popsloader will run on this CFW? I'll probably upgrade to it from 3.90 m33-3 if it works correctly and there are no major glitches on a Fat people talk about in the first day.

Still, I'm not changing firmwares if I lose the ability to play FFVII (going through that for the first time).

   Re: sabel4 - 2008-06-01
 » Oops

Sorry, checked previous articles about this and they say it's still got compatability with Popsloader. Still, I'm going to wait it out for a 1.50 addon and verification of no major glitches.
