Ó

the PSP-less CaseySigh. Here we have yet another unsuspecting youngster victimized by the greed of nasty video game lovers. If you guys can recall waaaay back in April, we told you about a 12 year-old kid victimized by PSP theft, and now, a 13 year-old kid has fallen prey to a similar fate.

Guys, meet Casey (last name withheld upon request), a 13 year-old Pinellas County boy who had just bought his brand spanking new PSP at the Largo Mall when another teenager came up from behind him and snatched his new console.

There goes his US $ 200. Tsk tsk. Casey was with his younger brother and 73 year-old grandmother when the theft occurred, and Casey says that he and his brother ran after the suspect but eventually gave up. Casey says: "I said, 'Give me my PSP back!' and I ran and I was right behind him, but I didn't do anything. I didn't know if he had a gun or not."

But aside from the fact that his newly bought PSP was stolen from him, Casey says he's more pissed about the fact that the suspect pushed his grandma to the ground. That, according to him, was what made him really angry. We know the holiday season is fast approaching, and perhaps this news bit should serve as a reminder to the rest of us that maybe it isn't Santa we should be looking out for, but rather the many Grinches out there who want to steal our consoles! Grrr!

Anyway, reminds me of a lesson my grandfather tought me. I told him I had $3. He said "neat show me". I did and he hit me on the head and took my money. Lesson learned.

With any gadget you've got to be careful, and I assume this kid had his PSP in open view when it was stolen. In all outdoor situations it's best to conceal anything of worth you have to avoid the gaze of potential muggers.

It's sad that you have to go these lengths but that is just the society we live in.

In this day and age you are asking to get robbed if you walk around with an exspensive bit of kit on show just like all the Ipods/mobile phones that are stolen. Thats why i dont play my PSP walking down the street. a least he has learnt a very good lesson.

   Re: thewhatyousay (Unregistered) - 2006-11-29
 » You cant anyway

You CAN'T play a PSP "walking down the street" even if you wanted to, and this is just a fact.

Screens are *****ing impossible to read in direct sunlight, or even indirect sunlight. This applies to IPODS, DS's, LAPTOPS and PSP's, and I know because I have all of them and well there you have it.

how about you get yourself a good PSP wriststrap? No, not the one supplied by Sony, but one that has a metal clip, and a smaller loop. It will safely hold to your wrist, making it harder for people to steal your PSP. :P

The same thing almost happen to my friend, but somehow his PSP was "found" by a fat kid who supposedly "didn't like the PSP". He didn't even move an inch when news went around that my friends PSP was stolen, and this was at the Wii Launch day with 30 mins till the Wii was launched (no kidding). Fortunately we made ALOT of temporary friends who all pitched in, and that probably made the kid nervous, and he gave it back saying he found it.

But on the flip side my other friend was trying to steal a PSP from someone else. -__- I have alot of wierd friends...

» I got mugged while waiting for the bus,Damn black wannabe loud mouth gangstas

I mean im black(14) to don't get me wrong I like my race its just sad that Blacks are more likely to steal than whites after all our ancestors did to get us free and have equal rights and now look what our race has done with thoes rights.Man its sickning sometime I guess we should have cegurgation now and days I mean at least theres a chance of us working together, though it'd be the whites or whatever well be fighting against it'd make me feel safer when black people are walking down the street or in a gang walking down the street like whites(taking a daily jog instead of sitting around planning on how to mug kids)Sorry this is kinda long just feel I should write about my feelings since I haven't talked about how I got robbed at gunpoint at night while waiting for the bus from a after school activity.

Sorry if this offended anybody but I just feel safer hanging out with other races than my own.

I was on the bus today and kids my age from a different school scared the crap outta me being loud and disrespectful to elders.I mean a gang of guys and girls were about to get in a arguement with a elder for saying can you quiet down for she had a baby. But the thing that saved her was the bus driver saying quiet down and watch the language and I caould;ve sworn soon after a girl asked some guy were her knife was(mind you this incident was all black teens).Though it scared the hell outta me and I would've gotten off the bus,I prayed that i'd make it home safely and that everybody on the bus would make it.

Man oh man what is our world coming to I feel for the kid but he really shouldn't have ran after him for he could've had a gun.

BTW if someone trys to rob you at gunpoinnt STAY QUIET and corroperate PLEASE for if the robber is to anxious they may pull the trigger.

When he gives me back my PSP, i'd shoot him anyway, cuz he pushed my grandma

» So what if he was black?

I didn't say that it wasn't a black did, and I admitted that black males have a much higher crime rate. I do not agree that most black people are criminals. If that were the case, don't you think more than half of the black population would have a criminal record? A small hint for you should be that they don't. I understand that their subculture promotes crime and certain immoral activities while my white male bible belt world revolves around church and college. Education isn't going to help when they are forced into schools that should be condemned in neighborhoods contaminated with sewage, where the sanitary department can't afford to go, where churches are converted into prisons and liquor stores. Most people say thats easy to solve, just move. But there is a problem with that; its called "White Flight". When lower social classes and unappealing races began to move into more upscale neighborhoods, the people who fund those neighborhoods withdraw their support and move. In the course of 5 years, the schools decline and property values have been halfed. Soon, the neighborhood will be experiencing the same exact problems as what they sought to escape from. Its a pretty vicious cycle. This thread right here should be a good amount of evidence that racism still prevails on both sides of the argument. I'm not going to sing my songs about a good education when thats not a chance I have recieved. Don't act like any other music is so moral either. Most music I hear on the radio is still about sex and drinking and its not rap. Not many are still listening to classical.

Black people do need to realize that things are getting worse and not better. Its going to be their job to overcome, nobody else is going to help. Hispanic immigrants have already gained higher status in the short time we've had them in our history. Can't say anyone really went out of their way to do that for them. Just wake up and consider things without so much anger involved.
