psp umdTrain2335 has released 2.6 Train-UMD Loader (or TrUmd Loader, for short)for PSP. The application, which is based on a previous work by 0okm, hitchhikr and Humma Kavula, loads the UMD disc on a fw2.6 through eloader via GTA. As of Train2335's version, the 2.6 TrUmd Loader is incapable of loading isos but the team is working on fixing that.

Train2335 says he's not sure if you can swap UMDs since he only has GTA, so may be one of you guys can try that and give him your feedback at the QJ Forum release thread or comments below. Please go through the readme text before installing the application.

To install:

  • Place the TrUmd folder in PSP/GAME/
  • Load Grand Theft Auto
  • Run Eloader
  • Select TrUmd and run it
  • Press X and load UMD
Finally, Train2335 would like to thank Dark_Alex, Humma Kavula, hitchhikr, SonyXteam, Fanjita, Ditlew, PSPDEV, and everyone else that made this possible! Special thanks to Mathieulh and 0okm!

If you read, it says that it attempts to load a UMD disc from eloader.

» RE: What does this do?

If you have a PSP running firmware 2.5 or 2.6 and you can't downgrade because you have a new "TA-082" motherboard then you can use this to load UMDs that require 2.7, 2.71 or probably 2.80 without needing to update your system software (another name for firmware)

Why do people celebrate being 1st commenters? Does it make them think that they were the first people to find whatever homebrew/loader it is? Surely if it's on QJ then a) QJ found it before them b) Someone found it and reported it to QJ c) It's probably been reported on some other site a good couple of hours earlier than that!

One word: children.

at 8 = so you dont have to downgrade to play games that require higher firmwares.

 » no isos

As it looks loading isos will take sometime(maybe much more time).

There is no possibility loading isos with this at the moment.
Not enough ram.

Lets wait and see what the future holds for it..

» This does NOT allow you to run later firmware version games

The author clearly states that he is unsure whether you can swap the UMD in the drive when trying this app so where some of you believe that this will allow you to run games that require later firmware releases is beyond me.

It's proof of concept - nothing more.

From my testing you cannot switch UMDs with this current rls,
It simply presents you with 'The game could not be started (8002014E)'.

 » why was this posted?

why was this posted if it doesn't work?

   by Snipershark (Unregistered) - 2006-08-13
 » @ #14

Why was ANY RLS of anything ever released? well because its a STEP in the development process when you are trying to accomplish something that will take a ton of work, and as much feedback as possible usually returns as the best help not putting down someone for doing something.

 » No.

No, this ISN'T a step forward. This is just a relatively well-known snippet of code compiled into this useless app. SodR showed it in that thread.

And this doesn't allow higher firmware UMDs, it doesn't deal with firmwares at all.

Ever notice that the TLA for proof of concept is the same TLA for peice of crap?
Coincidence? You decide . . .

Yeah, but if you look closer, this release have some bugs, if i were you, i would wait for the next release.
i have been looking for more info, and in the next release it would be fixed
at the moment the olny thing it does its to load GTA very quick, what they ought to do its to make an interval between the UMD and the ISO.
By the way, impressibe release. I give Suport at all

PSP 1.50=>2.00=>2.50=>1.50=>1.00=>1.50!!! 50 games incl.
