PSPDo you know that weird instance where you were thinking of someone you knew and suddenly that same person appears right before your doorstep? We were having that feeling earlier today. We kept on looking at our phones to see if somebody is contacting us, and going back to our door to look if someone's knocking. It sounds silly we know but it's true...

We just got back to our desk and to our surprise, there was an email there sent by hanky waiting to be read. Do you guys know what the email was about? 'Twas about Dark_AleX and the mana from heaven custom firmware. According to hanky, this is a translated conversation between the man himself and TeknoPSP via a messenger:

DAX: Well I guess Ill release the C Version and hen D next week, but right now I can't spent too much time on it. The new stuff in SE C will be:

  • Speed Selection
  • The selection of plugins from MS
  • Some omitted protections to improve the creation of homebrew in the 2.71 Kernel, especially since there's a possible emergence of an irShell for 2.71
  • Games from USB will be possible by loading a plugin from MS
Whoa! Need we say more? Now let's all start crossing our fingers and pray that this one doesn't stay hidden under the "rumors" section. Thanks hanky for the heads up.

 » BROWSER

Ive got a small suggestion for Dark Alex.A small bug i noticed
is that the web browser for the PSP cannot handle larger pages when surfing the web. If by any chance you read this could you possibly redirect the cache from the 2mb of internal memory to a specified folder on the memory stick? This would solve the "There is not enough memory problem." Thanks if
you read this please consider.

 » Se-b first edition

So I wonder if there will be an update straight from SE-b first edition or if you have to upgrade to SE-B" before you can goto SE-C.

I have First Edition SE-B and will switch to SE-C when it comes.

I also wonder if SE-C will include the devhook 46 patch to play thrillville etc...

As FW 3.0 is out.. how long before we see 3.0 SE-A??

 » Options to remove features

Would have been nice if it was possible to remove features you don't like so you can free more memory. Like LocationFree Player, so you can install other features like Dax support.

Re: Jedi CB uk (Unregistered) - 2006-11-21
 » I agree

It would be nice to remove this feature as its really not pratical for most people (Guess)
I dont use it, and will never will.

I thought dark alex said that SE-C would run iso's without an umd in the drive ;s

   Re: SE-B'' user (Unregistered) - 2006-11-21

If you have SE-B'' you can already run ISOs straight from the XMB without UMDs.

I heard it was because it use to much kernel memory which is the reason I suggested to add options to remove features you never use.
I dunno if it's possible but it sure would be nice.

 » External USB hard disk?

If there is a plugin module to allow the use of the usb port for loading games, could this be used to plug the PSP into an external usb hard disk? Please dont flame me, was just a thought.

   Re: *****hed (Unregistered) - 2006-11-21
 » Iagree

I agree if they are utilizing plugins alot more can be established than just mass usb storage and it will save on flash memory who knows you could probally add different codecs for video /audio formats (they would have to be recoded for psp of course;) Cheers to DAX and the homebrew scene the only thing keeping the psp alive cuz sony isnt competant enough to do so

   Re: td (Unregistered) - 2006-11-21
 » hm...

but you would have to purchase the external device, but it would be a LOT cheaper for 8gigs in a big hdd than 8gigs in a puny memcard.
   by Nextek (Unregistered) - 2006-11-21
» no games played directly off an external drive

so far its impossible to plug a psp into an external harddrive, as the harddrive will need to be running USBhost, and since there is no way to install this on an external harddrive its impossible.

But its still possible to play your ISO's on an external harddrive
what you need -
1. 1 gig memorystick (2 gig recommended) miniumum
2. OTG (on the go) USB drive

Drives with OTG will allow you to transfer files to your memory stick, or delete them. Its very handy.

They are sumtimes advertised as Camera Partners or "Elook"

look on ebay, i got mine there, popped in an 80 gig hdd, loaded my files in and it works (mine runs off 4 AA rechargeable batteries, and i get about 10 hours of transfer)

 » what the *****???

you are really a *****ing fool if youthink there will be a 3.00se-a!!!!!! the 2.71 se-b already uses up:
- 29,2 mb of the 32 mb
we can maybe expect that dark_alex removes some features, but then he will have loads of work!think about:- removing and adding prx
-sony certificates, flash0 and flash1 both will need to be adjusted!!!
none the less, in the world of programming, nothing is impossible!!! but we have seen enough great things in a short while, dont expect 10 magic wonders in 3 months, the onloy thing i can say is that 2.81 or 2.82 is possible to adjust, and who knows, maybe some great hacker, will make a UP with a room of 64mb, everything is possible, but you will have to wonder, where does it end?!?!?!?!

   Re: p0stal_sean (Unregistered) - 2006-11-22
 » true

i was thinking of storing some prx's in the mem stick but unless when u turn on ur psp it auto detects them and if there not there stores them automatically then it could lead to problems

 » cool

looking forward to the release. hopefully the king dark_alex can create a dxar from 3.0 and 1.5. that would own. either way 2.71se-c and direct boot hybrid 2.82 firmware will be the chronic.

i noticed a problem with the browser too
its just that it does not read the bookmarks
that are created by the psp i don't know if
this is an isolated problem maybe dark alex
could fix this in a later version
any one else having the same problem

   Re: tom0889 (Unregistered) - 2006-11-22
 » Soultion

all you need to do is simply delete the Common folder on your PSP but keep all the important files and recreate it, this will solve the bookmark problem. As for a petition, lol they are nearly impossible to gather enough willing people, hah, but a good suggestion

I'll take it that speed selector is for the cpu speed, 222, 333.... after i installed the overcloaking modual for SE-B my medal of honor game would not play anymore no matter what speed and even if i turned it off. I hope SE-C doesn't have the same bug

» well it seems we need another forum for "Dark Alex's X-mas list"

Yet we still using every new forum on pspupdate to ask DA for new things....Since he just thought of addidng plugins,(maybe a better way for the need of space). So this way gamers can decide what features to have on their PSP and have their own needs. DA should consider these for plugins;

- Multi video player (that includes Mp4,Avi,Mpeg-Mpeg2...
- Multi-audio Player (That includes Wma,Mp3(Atrac3, Ogg)
- an App that redirects Web browser memory to Ms0:, so
we can open greater pictures droping loading time..
- a Equalizer for audio purposes, one that u can set on
(at least) a 5-band Eq..
- a better streaming app, to transfer Psp to Psp stuff..

I dont know......, just this guys has(STILL) doing so many GREAT stuff that, Hey! why he just dont take a look of what people ask.

Besides this app stuff its a great idea....DA need SPACE for the psp memory, we Idividually have our own needs....

BTW Dark Alex's enjoy doing this things.... :D

while i was reading other post in dis forum, i came across his comment n he has confirmed tat our long-waited-se-c will be arriving next week.

he also commented tat 3.0 carries diff encryption n required a total new kind of crack bcoz of the flash0 memory limitation.

we have 2 b patient anyway. slowly the 3-oh will b cracked...just the matter of time. CHEERS !
