2.71 (TA-082 and TA-086) Downgrader - Corruption-free

TA-082 Downgrader minimizing keys corruption">Chilly Willy of the Exophase forums has released this 2.71 downgrader for TA-082 and TA-086 PSPs, tagged "Corruption-free". At the end of the entire procedure, whose instructions can be found in the Readme included in the package, the result is a FW 1.50 PSP.

The "Corruption-free" tag comes from this 'brew's feature which eliminates superfluous corrupted keys from the first generation of idstorage patcher. It will only corrupt those keys necessary to run FW 1.5. As it's also integrated into one package, this downgrader saves the newly-initiated into homebrew the trouble of "even knowing what idstorage is," XsavioR explained (he wrote the readme) in the Exophase forum. This package also includes HEN-D, necessary for the downgrader process.

(Due props: Homebrew author credits the original TA-082 downgrader by Dark_Alex, Mathieulh, Harleyg; and 1.5 enabler by Chilly Willy.)

There ARE a few words of warning regarding the use of this 'brew, though, so now, it's time for a few very red and emboldened letters to scream at you.

THE DOWNGRADING PROCEDURE ALWAYS HAS A RISK OF BRICKING YOUR PSP. THE HOMEBREW AUTHOR REQUIRES THAT YOU UNDERSTAND THIS RISK, AND KNOW THAT YOU USE THIS PROGRAM AT YOUR OWN RISK.

THIS DOWNGRADER IS ONLY, ONLY, ONLY FOR:

TA-082 AND TA-086 2.71 downgrading to FW 1.5
New users WHO STILL NEED TO DOWNGRADE THEIR 2.71 TA-082 and TA-086 PSP. If you have used the first generation of idstorage patcher, sorry, but NO GO. This also won't fix PSPs which have already run an idchanger app. Perhaps there is another app for this.

THIS GOES DOUBLE: DO NOT USE FAKE MEMORY STICKS WITH THIS HOMEBREW!!! The use of fake Sticks in downgrading or upgrading has a chance of BRICKING. READ THE README FOR INSTRUCTIONS AND OTHER WARNINGS! CHARGE THE BATTERY! Or better yet, KEEP THAT CHARGER PLUGGED IN WITH THE BATTERY @ 75% OR MORE!

He means those that are fake. There is a whole list to tell if yours is fake, the only one I can recall is that fake ones are NOT magicgate supported which can be seen from your PSP->memory stick->info.
I forgot the link that includes all the signs.

No certain brand is fake.

You obviously haven't been following this subject... I released IdReset and IdPatcher long before codes' General Idstorage Fixer (which is simply a combination of the two). The enabler in this downgrader was DELIBERATELY written to be as idiot proof as possible to avoid problems when downgrading. It will work with the newer downgraders as well, but no package has been put out for them (yet).

The focus here was to get a replacement downgrader package for 2.71 out as the 2.71 downgrade causes the most trouble.

Go thru this thread and check the post dates before you make more of a fool of yourself.

First off I am XsavioR, Chilly Willy is the one who took the code originally released by Stapol. Which did nothing at all, and researched it made it work, was released NUMEROUS times over in the same thread before Chilly Willy decided to start from scratch. The release post was here...

Then I spoke to Chilly , about making the above code Nub friendly. And Attacking the real problem ,, the 2.71 downgraders.

Any how the Goal here is Fixing the PsPs. Though reading the above post makes the posts about copying Funny, I think Chilly Willy deserves His name up there by Math , for his work creating 1.5enabler for the pack. I just had the honor of Putting all those incredible devs work into the same folder.

Chilly Willy , once again man Thanks for taking your time to fix my psp, and release a string of some 6 different apps Leading up to this one simple solution. (1.5 enabler)

I followed all the steps like clockwork (this is the 5th PSP I've downgraded, the previous 4 worked like a charm).
It got to the flashing stage, finished 100 percent, and I hit X to restart the PSP, and when I try to turn it on again, just the power lite works. Hopefully, I can just say its defective and return it since I just got it a week ago.

Some PSPs have a brightness bug after downgrading. There's a thread on it at lan.sh. Anyway, it it's black after downgrading, try hitting the screen button. That makes the screen come on for most encountering this. If a few pressed don't get it back, try removing the ac (if using ac), or the battery, then power back on. That gets it back for nearly everyone that runs into this.

hit your brightness key a few times... when you brick it simply turns off shortly after turning on . you thinking your power light works makes me think you didnt hit it.
This was tested b4 released. If your using files i posted there should be no issue.

I tried the brightness key, and still nothing. The sound doesn't work either. The only thing I can do is turn it on and watch the power light come on.

Homebrew ENabler version D, from Dark_AleX. It's one of the methods for running homebrew on a stock PSP. The other popular method is Fanjita's eLoader. The downgraders and associated programs are written around HEN.
