A rumor isn't news. But when a rumor is big - then it's news. And when it's a rumor about the elusive 2.80 firmware downgrader... and it mentions Eiffel56 (remember the PRX Loader for 2.71 SE?). "Morgen Downgrader fur 2.80?" this German site says, and we just have to report on it, don't we? 2.80 Benutzer deurfen wieder hoffen, wie unser Forenmitglied Eiffel56 verkeundete, arbeitet Sie gerade an einem Downgrader feur alle 2.80 PSP. 2.80 users may hope again, as our forum member Eiffel56 announced he's working straight on a Downgrader for all 2.80 PSPs. First tests with a PSP equipped with a modchip are running. We press it the thumbs that everything's all klappt [uh... what does klappt mean?]. Have straight ne 2.80 PSP of nem friend with me to [liegen]. A few experiments accomplished. Therefore be nothing more in the way of a 2.80 Downgrader. I am [straight at? going straight to?] programming. Tomorrow tests, then my PSP should be finished, with Modchip. 2.80 Users can rejoice once again, as forum member Eiffel56 announces that he is now working on a Downgrader for 2.80 PSP's. Tests on a PSP that is modchipped are currently running. We report this that everything is clicking. [Clicking reffering to that everything is running smoothly ^_^] Having a friend with a straight 2.80 PSP [meaning Non-modchiped] to experiment with, A couple expirements are being accomplished. Therefore, there can be nothing holding back the 2.80 downgrader. I am currently Programming. Tomorrow, more tests with modchip and my PSP should be finished. 2.80 users may get their hopes up again, as our forum member Eiffel56 announced she's working on a downgrader for all 2.80 PSPs right now. First tests with a modchip-equipped PSP are running. We'll keep our fingers crossed, hoping that everything will be working out. ("klappt" is colloquial for "working out") "Right now I have a friend's 2.80 PSP with me, and according to some experiments there shouldn't be anything stopping us from having a 2.80 downgrader. I'm coding right now, and should be able to test it tomorrow, since my PSP is getting a modchip right now."
Jan
Rosemann (emnem98): Hello, I've read your article about the 2.80 downgrader at a German site.
Because of the bad ;) translation (made with Google translator? ^^), I wanna help you with a better translation. Greetz,
Jan Rosemann (emnem98) from Osnabrück in Germany. 2.80 users may hope again, as our forum member Eiffel56 announced he's working on a Downgrader for all 2.80 PSPs at the moment. First tests with a PSP equipped with a modchip are running already. We press the thumbs that we'll have a working downgrader in the near future. I have a 2.80 PSP of a friend of mine lying beside me. A few experiments accomplished. Therefore nothing more should be in the way of a 2.80 Downgrader. I am programming right now. Tomorrow I'll test it, then my PSP should be finished, with Modchip.
Again to writing: I think it would be possibly possible a Downgrader to be made. I have never said already the functioning Downgrader am here. Dependent on the results can need to tomorrow write a Downgraders no 30 minutes. However it can also several days, weeks, months take. Or it is simply (to the current Zeitpunk) impossible. Update: ARBEITEN OFFIZIELL GESTOPPT. Und 2.80 is zickig. |

But its probably fake
corrections in what's been translated:
*Eiffel56 announced he's working on a downgrader for 2.80 PSP's right now. first tests on psps equipped with a modchip are already being run. we're crossing our fingers that everything works
*i have right now a 2.8 psp from a friend laying by me (means he's borrowing a friend's psp right now) I have gone through a few experiments. according to this there should be nothing in the way of a 2.8 downgrader any more. i am programming right now. tomorrow i'll test everything, then my psp should be finished, with a modchip (*note* fertig sein can also mean dead or destroyed...but i dont think that's what he means in this case)
Well, I´m a native german, so here´s my translation:
As I said: I think, that it is possible to create a downgrader.
But I never said, that I already have a working one here.
Depending on the results tommorrow, I can write one within 30 minutes.
But... it could take days, weeks or even months to make one. Or it may just be impossible right now.
My translation is for Update A. :)
They quit trying to make it already. I dont know why thats just what it says on the site.....
This isn't fake, Eiffel65 is a respected member of the portable news forums and other German PSP sites.
But hey, you American fellow's SUCK hard on those German translations, WTF.
If i had time i would provide you with a better translation.
TURN OFF ALL DOWNGRADER THREADS YOU F$CKING WHINERS ZOMG
FAKE
yep, i agree, probably fake
i'm pretty sure this is a fake
this is awsome! i have been waiting for so long! and if it is real and they found a way to crack 2.8s kernel mode, then my prayers have been answered!
i hope the 3.02 will have homebrew... maybe its a trick
why do u think sony will let us have homebrew after all the attempts to not let us have it on out beautiful psp's there never jest going to give us a firmware where they let us have homebrew unless they forget something
klappt -> "to work"
We press it the thumbs that everything's all klappt [uh... what does klappt mean?].
"Dreucken wir Ihr die Daumen, dass Alles klappt." exactly means "We press our thumbs for her, that everything works well."
To make the second text more clear, here it is translated again:
I have a friend's 2.80 PSP lieing with me.
I have made some experiments.
Therefore there shouldn't be a problem with a 2.80 Downgrader. I'm programming right now. Tomorrow I'll test ist out, my PSP should then be finish, with Modship.(Last sentences is a bit starnge, even in german)
I hope I could help you.

WOW AN ACTUAL FEMALE PROGRAMMER LMAO wish her the best of luck an she may become a psp godess :P
Great translation. Its exactly what it says.
this is precisely what it says, no need to keep scrolling ;)
Eifel65 was the fa*got who claimed to have 2.60 beta downgrader, and then just lied bout it
pressing our thumbs is a saying,
its like wishing good luck
break a leg
i hope this is true, it certainly might not be, but ive got a friend with 2.80, and he didnt even update it. his uncle did
and ill shoot his uncle.
We press it the thumbs that everything will work.

ne and nem = eine and einem
I currently have a PSP of one of my friends. A few experiments accomplished. Therefore be nothing more in the way of a 2.80 Downgrader. I am currently programming. Tomorrow I will test it, then my PSP should be finished, with Modchip.
I am from Germany but my English is...expandable ;)
vist:http://www.portable-news.de/forums/viewtopic.php?p=18204#18204
I hope that it'll work but i'm still a bit sceptical about it
So what he is trying to say, is that he will soon be done making a program that can downgrade a PSP with 2.80 firmware to a modchip...err..uhm, softchip?
j/k :p
it's a girl. she also made a 2.71 se customizer. i don't think its a fake. I'm a german and this news page is belivable.
da steve
that doesn't mean that she will definately accomplish her goal, does it?
..and come on she's a woman, she cant do anything, jk, good luck thugh
I was lucky to have downgraded from 2.71 but if people who have updated to 2.80 I would only recommend that you learn from your mistake and dont update straight away. Hopefully this should sort it out, but with rumors of this being a fake I am sure a proof of concept video will be released near enough straight away.
1)it is not a he but a she
2)she is working at the downgrader
3)she writes a programm
4)she will test it with the modchip
5)she will be realease it
;)
that it is a fake however we have yet to hear from the girl herself. someone posting news as someone else has been done on another site (no names, but check my sig on the forums) so its possible the person is lying about the girl working on one.
add to this the fact someone said we cant access the ipl on 2.80 and it begins to look unlikely that she will succeed if this is true. but until she speaks on here for herself then i shall say - not fake but unlikely.
That's what I'm thinking too...
In the Forum she said that she will try to access the Flash0 with the new eLoader (or something like that). I dunno how realistic it is because if it would be that simple i bet that other Programmers would already have made a Downgrader
is G*y (not sure if you can type that)
2.80 user may have hope again, our forum member Eiffel56 has announced that she is working on a downgrader for all 2.80 PSP. The first tests is for PSP with Modchips "already running?"
LOL. downgrade without kernel? its a big fake ^^
and a nice promotion for the "kindergarten"-site.
greetz
vater ^^
kernal has been accessed. jeez research be fo yo fool typez

They aren't already running. She'll test it tomorrow
Die post spammer, please!!
QJ will ban / delete the spammer as soon as they can... Meanwhile, since we are talking German, "Die post spammer" just means "The post spammer" in German hehehe. LOL
does anyone else notice a trend?
i) sony releases a major new firmware (3.00, now 3.01 anyone?)
ii) there are unreliable rumors of an unknown dev somewhere making a downgrader
iii).... a few days later Fanjita takes the scene by storm and releases a downgrader for the older firmware?
dont get me wrong, i love Fanjita and the work hes done for this scene. him and his Noobz.eu crew are geniuses, but im sure iv seen this scenario before...
heres hoping i guess. my 2.80 psp was getting little to no use before the eLoader...
cheers
I know there's gonna be a downgrader but when? Im actually waiting for a new discovery by the haxor gods for fw3.00!!!!
it is a freeplay fake
Don't get ME involved in this, dude.
lol, do you google your name or something FreePlay?
No, I'm just literate and can read comments.
I'm Dutch but I can read and speak some german. This is my translation. Feel free to correct my english.
2.80 users may hope again, as our forum member Eiffel56 announced he's working on a Downgrader for all 2.80 PSPs right now. First tests with a PSP equipped with a modchip are running. Keep your fingers crossed and let's hope everything will work.
I Have a 2.80 PSP of a friend lying here right now. A few experiments accomplished. Therefore nothing will get in the way in creating a 2.80 Downgrader. I am allready programming. Tomorrow tests, then my PSP should be finished, with Modchip.
I checked, in one of the other posts it said, it's a girl, I double checked, and indeed, "Sie" in this case is not a plural :)
Everyone's screaming for 2.80 downgrader, what I don't quite understand is why?
I didn't know anything about the homebrew scene before I stumbled onto this site (werid, I know)
Anyway I'd just upgraded to 2.80 and had ever tried the 2.81 upgrade but it was so slow downloading I turned my PSP off. I'm glad I did.
Now with the eloader, I can load HEAPS of homebrew and all sorts of cool stuff.
So why is everyone wanting this major downgrader? As far as I can tell, the only good thing about lower firmwares is it allows you to emulate UMDs? Is that the big drawcard? Or am I missing something?
Cheers,
Tim
ISOs isn't the only thing, there are some homebrews that require kernel-mode (or something else in some cases maybe) that can't run on 2.80, two examples are Bochs and IR Shell
Although loathe to admit it (myself included), a lot of "homebrew fans" are really just pirates, so .iso's/etc are much loved.
1.5 firmware gives you full Kernel access which means potentially more speed, use of the Psp Media Engine, more RAM availiable for emulation or homebrew. For example, Snes TYL running in kernel mode uses the Media Engine (a seperate 333mhz co-processor) for all sound processing therefore speeding up the overall emulation since the main CPU has less load and more time. Now Snes TYL running in User Mode does not have access to the Media Engine and therefore runs slower. You can also run all homebrew direct from the XMB in 1.5 firmware and overall you have more options for the future. Thats only part of what you're missing.
Yesssss!!! ISO!!!!
1.5 lets you upgrade to the one and only custom firmware 2.71SE. Which in turn turns devhook into a transparent process. Which is lovely. And runs EVERY UMD, iso, and homebrew (.avi Movieplayer!) you want. Get it ;)
2,80 users may hope again, as our forum member announced Eiffel56, work you straight on a Downgrader for all 2,80 PSP. First tests at a PSP equipped with Modchip are running. We press it the thumbs that everything folds.
*
Have straight ne 2,80 PSP of nem friend with me to lie. A few experiments accomplished. Therefore should stand 2,80 Downgrader to nothing more in the way. I am straight at programming. Tomorrow I become the whole then tests, then my PSP should be finished, with Modchip.

Again: I think it would be possible to make a downgrader. I've never said I already made one. Depending on the tests tomorrow, writing one could be done in less than 30 minutes. however it could take days, weeks or months or it is sheer impossible (yet).

The Dutchman said everything else...
you don't need kernel, flash0 is enough ... noob -.-
and what is IPL?? IPL without kernel? ROFL
greetz
n00b ^^
You need to have kernel mode access to rewrite the IPL (bootloader). flash0 is NOT enough.
Who's the noob now?
again ur the noob, flash0 is not enough
u need access to the ipl among other stuff (the ipl is on a seperate drive than flash0) sooooSTFU noob... -.-
I doubt this is real... I reckon it's way too soon... I mean, the 2.71 downgrader didn't emerge for a long time... but then again, fanjita (the amazing) and co. did try and make sure it was stable before... although I remember all the noobs who didn't read the readme and bricked their psps..... oh well, there's still hope... I hope this is real, but nah... it'll be a month or two yet realistically
but the first downgrader was... uhm.. experimental? :P .. anyway.. i had warranty, and when i got my psp back (after 4 weeks) the easy downgrader was out +)
will work with 2.82!!??
you did upgraded to 2.82 even with all our advice.. deal with it B!tch! Hope it doesnt...
Of course it will [/endsarcasm] NOT...
*****..mine is 2.81 *****!
you guys are F*CKING IDIOTS!!!!!!!, whay you noob bother translating where there is a fair translation @ the start of the topic, its amazing how many noobs try n translate ffs!!
So is mine. That's a pitty :(. Hopefully some talented hacker will bother working on a 2.80/2.81 downgrader and bring us a magnificent outcome that will eventually let us enjoy our PSP as the homebrew scene.
