Well not entirely free, there's a process you have to do, but the 256 MB Memory Stick might be worth it though. Okay, here's how it goes: if you can deal with mailing in a rebate you can get a 256MB stick for free. Here, check out a screencap of their website.

If you can't read me, click me to enlarge

The Pro Duo stick works in a standard PSP and with the included adapter it can work with a 60GB deluxe Playstation 3. Sure it's only a fraction of the Mega-sized 2GB stick, but hey, it's free. Just in case you guys might appreciate an extra memory stick. If you want more details on how the thing should work, you can click on the VIA link at the bottom of this post.

 » no theres not...

I've gotten plenty of rebates back from Circuit City, and I've never had a problem. The only thing that could be considered a trick is that you are able to read the instructions to send the rebate form in.

Believe it... I have gotten numerous products this same way... it's actually pretty funny when you can get say 10 of them, mail in the rebates, get your money back and then trade the ***** in at EB games or similar stores... if you had the cash on hand to do this you could end up paying for a new game or two ;)

These offers are legit. They are loss leaders (look it up if you don't know).

Add to that the fact that a significant percentage of people either do not send in their rebate forms or do not read the qualifications correctly (i.e. can't follow directions).

And you cannot return these to EB while qualifying for the rebate as you will need to send in the UPC code to get the rebate. I assume that even EB employees are bright enough to catch that one.

Kristian said you can 'trade' in the memory stick, not 'return' it, big difference in price + policies. As far as I know you can trade pretty much any stick in, don't need any paperwork or packaging.

i tried it, but how do i get the 30€ rebate?

by European gamer (Unregistered) - 2006-11-10
 » QJ Should....

QJ should add in their news when an offer is exclusive to a single-country. Not everyone is from the UK or the USA.

This was a huge letdown, please consider it the next time you post an offer like this.

 » 90% chance of scam

Meaning, there is only a 10% chance those bastards will send the rebate. These "rebate companies" are seperate from Circuit City and they basically operate a scam that you need to constantly annoy them and threaten to sue to get your rebate sometimes. Actual price: $29.00 plus tax.

   Re: GaveUpTomorrow - 2006-11-10
» No, its not a scam...

I've gotten hundreds of dollars worth of free stuff over the years, mostly from office max, but also from circuit city. As long as you follow the instructions correctly, there's pretty much a %100 chance you'll get the rebate. All together, I've done well over thirty or forty different rebates like this (for free CDRs, memory sticks, network cards, mouses, microphones, keyboards, etc), as I have gotten every single rebate, without problems. So no, you don't need to annoy them or threaten them, as I have never needed to, and probably never will.

» true or lie there is still one thing u can count on

that they are doing this for business nothing is free evin if u half to take a survey. promotional adds like this can also boost sales. whatever if i could stop by there store and pick one or 13 up i would but aint gonna waste my valuable gaming time trying to play more games. filling out surveys and whatnot besides the fact that they are free just means the cards are probly crap. okay no more bashing just saying the word free hasnt aplied inb a long time. since humans dont have patience sympathy and well souls. done preaching and if i read it correctly it says free but if ur giving up anything including ur time it aint free. a good idea would be that sony buys up all the memory sticks it can and publishes a psx emu on em and convert them to mini usb's thus solving the ram problem and a acceptable working emulator would take up about that much space plus if the iso,s for the emulator were in a different file type than iso ext then it would solve piracy so evveryone gets the emu sony gets the money for shipping of the product games mem sticks for games and so on

 » nope...

No surveys, takes almost no time, so in the end you waste almost no time. I bought one off their website just now, and all you have to do is fill out a quick rebate form correctly and send it in. To me, its like letting someone borrow $30 dollars for a month or two, and then getting your money back in the end while getting the free card. If you have $30 dollars to spare for a little bit, it is well worth it. Trust me though, these things work, they are free, and there are no surveys.

To everyone whose moaning "this is a scam nothings for free". Ever stop to think that with 1GB chips selling for less than 2x the pre-rebate price maybe just maybe the 256mb aren't exactly flying off the shelves and they just want to dump their inventory.

Then why a rebate instead of just giving it away, because with mail in rebates you have a large percentage of people who are too dumb to get it in on time or follow directions. Its not a scam just cause having both a UPC code and a receipt is too much for yout o handle.

 » scam

they are only doing this because nobody is buying 256mb cards and they need 2 get rid of them and they know that alot of people are gonna forget to send in the rebate so they wont lose profit.

by I've done this a lot of times (Unregistered) - 2006-11-11
 » Go for it :)

I've done a lot of this "free" stuff a lot. Trust me it works fine. They do this so you'll walk into a store, and you'll see something new and shiny, which'll make you want to come back and buy it. Same thing with online, except you see the picture of the shiny stuff :)

I be t you would have to pay 4 shipping.

» Not a scam, perfectly legit

I'm glad the majority of users that read this site are retarded - so this item is still in stock. FAR items (free after rebate) are extremely common in retail stores. For about $2 tax, it's always nice to have an extra 256MB card.

Adamn, you fool. If you took five seconds to read the item description, you'd see that shipping is also free:

"Free shipping on orders $24 and up"
