3.71 M33 Easy Installer - install CFWs the easy way - Image 1If you've been following the developments on the PlayStation Portable homebrew community">homebrew community for a while now, you'll agree with us when we say that installing custom firmwares have become easier and less risky compared to the earlier builds.

But we wouldn't be surprised if there are some PSP owners out there who are still afraid to try them out. It seems that coder pspfreak101 noticed the same and that's why he came up with the program 3.71 M33 Easy Installer.

Just like the name implies, this is a PC-based program that aids users in installing custom firmwares of their choice. All they have to do is install the program, choose a CFW, and they're done.

3.71 M33 Easy Installer has a Readme.txt file which will provide you with all the necessary details on installation and usage
.

 » How do I?

Can I use this to go from 3.40 OE-A to 3.71 M33?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

That was my exact goal too. I was also still on 3.40-OE and i read u can't go directly from 3.40-OE to 3.71-M33.

But this program seems useless, so i did it the 'hard' way. Here's what i've done: first updated to 3.52-M33, then to 3.52-M33 update 3 (the update 4 rar is password protected here on QJ and the PW wasn't supplied and since u only needed update 3 i used that one) and then i ran the 3.71-M33 CFW and tadaa i'm on 3.71.

(BTW kinda cool to see the official sony updater screen installing CFW :-D )

The password is something weird, but it is.

 » Doesn't work on 1.50

Just to let you guys know, this isn't working if you're on 1.50.
As stated clearly in the readme:

Requeriments: a fat psp slim with 3.52 M33-3 or 3.52 M33-4. Previous versions of M33 won't work,
due to a bug that affects them and OE; or a psp slim with 3.60 M33.

I tested it myself, and it doesn't work, even if you used the KXploit patcher, the update won't start and will give you an error code instead.

Just upgrade to 3.52 M33-3 or 3.52 M33-4 will do the job ;)

PS: the Easy Installer isn't working either =p

It's not like installing custom firmware was ever difficult. Why not skip this worthless program and just do one extra step?
