3.90 M33 done the easy way - Image 1Most of us probably know how hard it is to upgrade firmware. Luckily, Lewishamilton and Stiffmeister have created an application that should simplify the process of upgrading your Sony PSP.

They've developed the first 3.90 M33 Easy Installer program for the PSP, which should allow you to upgrade to 3.90 M33 on Windows 2000, XP and Vista machines.

The main problem you might have with this installer is the fact that it's not completely in English. That being said, if you want to activate the installation procedure on your PSP, just select the drive letter that corresponds to your PSP, and then click on "Installeren." That should get everything up and running.

As for what the developers have to say, here's a quote from our forums:

This version is still in development stage. But comes very rapidly v2 with kernel and sits there nicely. Then no longer goes that by means of winrar.

As the malignant and lite kernel ends up we let us do that also.

In any case, for those of you who want a relatively quick and painless process for upgrading your firmware, then you may want to try this out. Enjoy!

No offence to the creator, but copying the files over and doing the update the normal way isn't hard, I don't know how it could be any easier.

If people struggle with that, then why even bother.

 » Are you serious?

All you need to install 3.90m33 is the installer! It DOWNLOADS THE UPDATE FILE!

 » Yea Man

That's how I did it because I have Wi-Fi, but my point was related to the fact of if you didn't have wi-Fi, but either way it's just not hard is it, what's the point, if you can't simply copy and paste some files to a folder, then how the hell did any of these people get to where they are today, they shouldn't have custom firmware if they need something like this.

but i still use the reguler installer

 » WTF?

We already have an easy installer. It's called Network Update and I can do it straight from my XMB.
And the other option; copying files over to your PSP, is so incredibly simple. DA made it that way. If someone can't move files from their computer to their PSP then they shouldn't be installing custom firmware.

If you feed people constantly with things like those easy installers they will never be able to do aything themselfes and they never learn to RTFM.

How do I install this?
Where do I have to put the ROM?
How do I turn off my PSP? (no joke... really)
Where can I find this?
How to upgrade from 3.80 M33 to 3.90 M33. HELPPP!!!1111 I NEED AN EASY INSTALLER!!!!!11111oneoneoneeleveleleven

I already saw someone who asked for a easy installer for his mp3 files...

 » How do I downgrade 3.90 to 3.80

I have a PHAT PSP and this gives me nothing and it breaks IR Shell, how do I downgrade? I don't want to create a Pandora battery. Can't I just run recovery mode and downgrade to another custom firmware? If I try the install 3.80 CFW straight away, I can't because it detects the 3.9 as being higher.

This s useless to anybody. its probably going to make someones life HARDER. We know you meant well, but a simple visual basic app and the eboot. Hell If you have any clue all you do is copy DA's installer to your psp/game folder and the copy the update to the folder and rename it. Wow hard stuff, just explaining that gave me a migraine. NOT.

Keep trying the standard way, it does say in the read me that for some reason this updater is slightly unstable and may crash and if this happens just to try again.
