A glimpse of fw3.00's visualizer on 2.71 SE-C

If you guys have been following the goings on in the homebrew community, then you've probably heard the news that LordSturm and kando are currently working on having fw 3.00's Visualizer in 2.71SE-C.

When Dark_Alex released his 2.71 SE-C Custom Firmware, you didn't really expect that other coders wouldn't get to work on improving it and adding more features right? A perfect example for this is LordSturm and kando, who are hard at work in devising a method to use 3.00 visualizer features safely from 2.71 SE-C.

And to update us on what's been going on so far and how much progress they've achieved on their work, kando (or kandowontu on YouTube) has posted this video on YouTube which shows the visualizer at work...via Kanye West. Again, they remind us that this is a work in progress so if you don't like what you see, don't complain just yet, alright? LordSturm has also informed us that we can expect a release or hack soon, probably early December. Great work you guys!

actually that vid baffles me. the certificate utility is only on fw3, but the camera is explainable from the prx that came out (qj wouldnt host it). the certificate utility and 2.71 se-c on sysinfo makes me think 3.00 se-a????

it contains the license to use the PSOne game. Its so people don't try and share them and stuff. Plus its also forgames you can obly use for a limited time.

@ Sudds, if you read the text, it says that there isn't a download link yet. They are still working on it.

@ Aythamie, I don't know what it is.. But i noticed that there are more icons of the 3.0 firmware. Bit strange, isn't it?

yeah that is right, there are icons from 3.00 but I guess its just the consequence of adding the 3.00 xmb modules to 2.71 because without them you couldnt select the visual. in mp3. Thats the only thing on my mind so far

I want to give developers that do this stuff some kind of trophy. There should be an official organization for homebrew developers. Like the psp super league. Probably something a little more professional. :P

I'm still a little bit sceptical...I want to see him run homebrew or anything else that's not possible in 3.0...

it just looks like he's hex edited the 3.0 firmware into showing it as 2.71 SE-C.....

BUT

if they've done it then they deserve a standing flippin ovation! :)

I didn't notice any UMD Auto Start Icon in the Settings menu. So for all those morons who think he's 'hex' edited 3.0, stop acting like you know what is going on in the scene. 3.0 cannot be hex edited... those icons will not work when you click on them... think disable network update.

That's funny, because not only can I not see any cuts, but I can also see that up until the music is played the time and date are 11/28 at 4:22 AM. Of course, the time and date won't display during music playback, so dont try to use that against me.

Still, this might be a fake. Couldn't a UP chip allow you to change the firmware version that is displayed on a 3.0? But if you are going to accuse it of being fake, don't make up reasons, *****ing n00b.

All they did was port over version 3.0 PRX's and used some of them in 2.71 SE-C. It's not Hex edited 3.0 like some of the n00bs are saying.

awsomeage, I never have updated my 1.5 because devhook + god and compatible more..but.. with this visualizer and other 3.0 feature it would be great to start to get int o 2.71 se or rather it'll be come 3.0 se...(without ps1 emu) :P

they make all this great stuff but we never get them.
2.8 flash0 write, we never got anything from that, ya we got an eloader and xloader but no flash0 stuff.
and now this, we wanna do all that too.
and i personally dont care if it can brick your psp, hell anything can if used improperly, and they do work, we had vids of it. and if you dont want to use it, than dont. but im willing to try.
