You kids don't have the passion like these guys - Image 1It's official: Final Fantasy has the power not only to sell consoles and handhelds, but also get Japanese folks from all walks of life off their couch. For everyone interested in how Square Enix' Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII's launch went down, check out the pictures Wired took from Akihabara.

Our most respect goes to the elder gamers who lined up just to grab their share of Crisis Core Limited Edition PSP Slims. With only 77,777 of these babies to ever exist, some of the buyers are probably planning to make big bucks by reselling the handhelds.

If you head over Wired's website, you'll find other pictures with cosplaying store employees and painfully long lines of people hungry for a rare PSP Slim. Check them out by clicking on the Read link below.

unlike some other countries, Japan has great economy and social stability. there are only few (very rare) homeless people wandering around, and if ever they are spotted by a policeman, they are immediately taken to a HOME care facility. Here in japan if you dotn have a job or you cannot afford to pay for apartment, the city goverment will pay for you, then probably also find you a decent job so you can pay them back.

» wow... I am amazed at the age

it is cool to see this culture adapt game into all ages whereas my local EB just filled with kids screaming at their parents to buy stuffs for them... One kid actually punched his mom for not ordering Halo3 for him... but his mom has no idea what Halo is... *sigh*
