A couple of days ago, homebrew developer Crazy C released a new patch for the much-loved DOS emulator for the PlayStation Portable, DosBox. However, the release didn't quite go smoothly because all the files were kind of scattered all over, and those interested on using it had to first find the files. |

it seems to me the download is corrupt;
I get an unexpected end of file error!
~~~~~~~~~~~
why did the above appear in my comment box?
including name and short descrip?
Grab it from DCEMU, they have the complete working version.
Yes... I hope to be fixed soon. Anyway I'll get it from DCEMU.
Corrupt as well. The one at DCEmu isnt the eboot correct? I only found one and I dont know what to do with it...
I don't have my psp with me, but does Warcraft 2 work?
I didn't work for me a few builds back, but now it might.
yes it does..... only about 10fps tho
Thanks dodswm for the info. ^_^
I'd like to know if you can run Dwarven Fortress on this - now that would be class.
Jazz works yesno?
Someone already ported Jazz Jackrabbit.
I tried a DOS application that I programmed in 1995 using QuickBASIC 7.0 Professional Edition and I couldn't believe that it worked... So if you know QuickBASIC, you could create your own applications for the PSP.
i've tried:
Battletech Crescent Hawk Inception
Arena
Heretic
Dune 2 (quello strategico)
Threat
Unfortunately they are still slow ...anyway they all works! Sound and graphic are perfectly emulated!
:D
I hope Dosbox will be optimized!
Space Quest 1-5 (and SQ1 VGA)
Star Trek: 25th Anniversary
Star Trek Rites
In theory, SQ6 should also run on it, since it has a dos mode for the game as well. Graphics are perfect, sound runs perfect, and depending on the frame rates, music usually runs quite well. I'm looking forward to the next update. :D
some real homebrew getting released on pspupdates! big thanks to all involved, will try this tonight.
ps. to >> - there is a seperate psp emulator for jazz jackrabbit that is really good, and will run it better than this will.
dos games=my whole childhood, as i was denied access to consoles until n64 times ;-) can not wait to load up some old school 80286 classics!!!
W00t! Shuffle Puck Cafe! Anybody know how to F1 using the P-Sprint keyboard? I would really appreciate any help. Thanks all!
If this can someday run Arena or Daggerfall, you'll be my hero. ^^;
Has anyone tried Master of Magic?
How about the original Civilization?
qBasic & Raptor here I come! Probably painfully slow though, would love to see this improved on.
Holy **** this is amazing. I've still got my old theme park CD lying around here but I can't quite fit that inside a PSP :(
Maybe with PSP-specific optimizations it could run Daggerfall. Or I'm just dreaming.
Is this for 1.5?
No, it's for Sony's official 3.50 firmware. :P
It's for 1.50 or any OE firmware, not the official ones.
'No, it's for Sony's official 3.50 firmware' I wonder if anyone was stupid enough to upgrade to 3,50 filmware that would be so funy. ha ha ha ha
dcemu keeps terminating the connection, can someone with the full file please upload it somewhere.
Get a download accelerator.
don't you think i already tried, there server is poorly configured, connection timeout or something.
Just a suggestion
DosBox needs to have piKey implemented... that way you would not have to be bothered about complicated controls....
(Also,this would mean opening the door to a proper aplication to type texts without limit in size while on the go... or even programming stuff in C for instance)
Also Danzff Virtual Keyboard should be implemented as well, for those that do not have a IR keyboard.
After that, this homebrew would be BRILLIANT.
QJ PLEASE fix the download!! It is CORRUPT!
I got it from DCemu, and first of all, it wouldn't play my favorite game, Cyclones, second, it would only go to the menu on my 2nd, Crazy Cars III, and 3rd, the reason I couldn't go past the Crazy Cars menu was because I couldn't move the little pointer arrow to select anything. I also got Sango Fighter 2 to load, but the controls don't fully work in that either, so I couldn't select a character. Anyone else notice this half-butt working control system lol.
Anyways this is awesome though. If Cyclones will work and speed will get optimized, and the controls work properly in a later version it will be sweeeeeet.
You do realize that the controls are completely configurable? (Look at the batch file for an example)
So far I've got wolfenstien 3d fully configured and working. Using the "mouse" for movement to free up keys.
Just got XWing installed and need to configure that (setting up controls will be fun). But it runs pretty well.
Anyone try Privateer? I haven't been able to get it running, but my copy is old and probably bad.
Sw: Dark Forces failed, but that isn't surprising. Was able to get Duke3d to the menu but it crashed after that.
I did not know that... I'll take a look thanks for the tip. Wasn't really much of a readme that I saw, unless I missed that as well lol.
download it from psp-hacks.com
I was waiting for an update for SOOOOOOOOOOOO long, since the first one came out, it was sluggish as hell XD, and the keyboard sucked, I really hope it's updated even further, I hope it makes DOs games playable, duke nukems, Boppin, bio menace :P those rock, oh yeah all commander Keens ( I am aware one of them was ported) KEEP IT UP WANNA SEE THIS FULLY WORKING, if possible ofc.
Does diablo run on this?
