uNn from PS2Dev has released v0.9.5 of his AVI to PMP conversion tool. AVI to PMP is an application that converts normal AVI and VOB files to PMP format so you can play them at full resolution using the latest PMP mod 2.00. AVI to PMP has many customizable features, and includes many applications to aid in converting files from AVI to PMP format. Version 0.9.5 adds many new features, including:

  • VBR audio support
  • Advanced settings
  • Bit rate calculator
  • Pmp_muxer 2.00 support
This latest release also has a great new design, and looks much nicer than the previous release!

Note: For this application to work you will need to download mencoder, or copy it over from your last AVI to PMP install.

 » no mencoder

Yeah no mencoder. For the program to work you have to copy your old mencoder into the package.

Yes, MENCODER is not included into the package, because there are many different builds: put your favorite build of mencoder to apps/mencoder folder
You can get mencoder build here: http://oss.netfarm.it/mplayer-win32.php

I have a question if anyone is is able to answer it. For windows users, such as myself how do you get mencoder to play mpeg 2 videos using mpeg 1 layer 3 audio codec. All my videos played using mplayer have audio insycn problems.

 » You're a noob #11

Keep up with the homebrew scene #11. PMP is the best video player for the PSP and you can only enjoy it if you a 1.5 firmware PSP.

1) Might be wise to treat new comers to the "homebrew scene" as it's success depends on the same "noobs" that you used to be yourself coming in here and checking stuff out. It's not just flaming developers that distracts the development of homebrew. Making people not want to come here by constatntly coming in here verbally bashing people for asking a simple question is just as damaging to the scene.

2) You CAN play homebrew on higher versions, but that would require you to contribute to the GAMING scene and go out and buy one of the best PSP games to date(in the ways of graphics and playability that is, not to mention versatility)Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories . Also I might point out that you CAN upgrade to 2.0 and then DOWNGRADE to 1.5

 » Missing memcoder... erm...

I know its been said already that memcoder is missing, and to just put the exe in the specified folder, but might it not be a bit more professional to actually include SOME version of memcoder with this ap? I didnt bother reading these comments until after I had installed the ap and played around with it. It was only after looking at the logs and doing a search for "memcoder" that I actually figured out what was missing... Wouldn't hurt to include it is all im saying, and helps prevent annoyance by end users.
