I'm sure there are plenty of you who have brilliant ideas for PSP games, but have the pesky problem of not knowing a scrap about Programming for the PSP. Thankfully, Adventure Maker is releasing a new version of their software, and what's even better is that games created in Adventure Maker work on PSP's with 2.x Firmware making use of the Web Browser! And to top it all off, it's free! The staff at Adventure Maker has emailed us these details about their newest release:

The changes include:
- New PSP engine for better visual experience
- Integrity-check routines for error-free software compilation
- Added support for animations (animated GIF's)
- Added support for timers to go to other places after a given time
- Added semi-transparent background for the text messages
- Improved installer for loading the produced software on the PSP

Adventure Maker is the ONLY toolkit available for creating point-and-click software for legal 2.x PSP's. No scripting or programming is required, and the program is totally free!

The produced software is compatible with any legal firmware 2.x, and does not require any system modification or hacking of any kind! (it is safe HTML-based software that runs through the PSP built-in Browser)

What you can create for the PSP is:
- First-person point-and-click adventure games
- Interactive magazines
- Myst/Riven-like games
- Educational software
- Quiz games
- Interactive visits
- Tour guides (museums, sites...)
- Interactive presentations and brochures
- Interactive comic books...

..and any other pre-rendered point-and-click software!

The concept is very simple: you import your pictures (photos, drawings, renderings...), you add hotspots to link them to one another, and you are done! You can even create complex puzzles without any scripting: just create some variables, and then make the hotspots or pictures appear or disappear depending on the value of the variables!

To see a few examples of what you can achieve without any programming, make sure to try out the free PSP games available at the following URL:

Can this be run on 1.5 PSPs, sorry if this is told alreay but i must have missed it

This always worked for 2.60 just like all the portals for the PSP. So thats old news. It don't use any eboots so unless you have a web browser it wont work. But I used it to make a walk through of my house and it's pretty easy to use because no coding is needed but it's fun little app.

Some of you blokes think that this can run all your homebrew with this method?

No! You only can just play some crappy lousy "web-based" games!

This is just a program that lets you link picture from your computer to make a a myst like game. if you really want to see what does then download the demo off the web sight. There is one full game for the psp there. But if you always want to make a game like myst this program is the way to make easy for you. The new demo it pretty good but still short. I really don't see why poeple have to bad mouth or fight over what things door how they work. This program is good for what it's used for. I had it for a while now and it is kind of fun to play with. Just wish it offers more to it. But I think one day some one like agetec of someone else will make a better program to make your own games for the psp. But no this will not run homebrew games or help in any way to hack the psp. I just hope one day someone make an RPG maker for the PSP. Or even a Platform game make would be fun to. But for those who want to make games for PSP are still better off right now using LUA. But this is not crap ether it's just made to be simple for people who don't know how to use code.

Thanks goodness they didn't say that it would work on 2.60 firmware through homebrew, and they actually TOLD us it works via the browser. Damnit... those PSPadvance bogans should get a kick in the balls.

I don't think it can. But maybe if you have a web browser for 1.5 firmware. But I don't know it you can run files off memory card from the 1.5 web browser. But I would say no. Because it has a setup.exe made for the sony web broswer. So when you chick the setup.exe it installs it self to the sony web browser. But I think there might be a way but I don't have 1.5 to try to get it to run. But 2.0 works fine and up.

Wow so cool I can now make picture books. I still like my RSS though.

Ok, some of you dont seem to know what this actually does.

I half-blame the description. This does not do anything that is not already possible, it just makes it easier, so... no Quake!

(although! imagine quake done in a myst style ;) lol, someone should try they for the laugh!)

Anyways, this program is excellent, nice idea ;)

He was mentioning Quake because the Quake II homebrew port is supposed to be coming out very soon which would complement this release as being a good New Years. ;)

by Sulpher Dragon (Unregistered) - 2005-12-31

Yeah! damn, I was thinking that after I clicked "Publish", anyway, it gave me that fun idea ;) lol

Might try it myself

Many of you should already know this, But McZonk has delayed the release of Quake II for, "A few days after New Years".

It was posted here, but they erased it for some reason, and it's posted on his blog.

   by Jake (Unregistered) - 2005-12-31

No we posted about it - it just accompanied an article about a larger theme. :) You can read it here:

Well, there was another one. Posted by Jeff Chen, I think. Didn't allow comments because he was talking about how he felt sorry for how comments from people afflicted PSP DEVs. It showed some last Screen Shots, and a few hours later disappeared.

Also you should know that Team Emergency Exit are AMAZING coders. i mean they're legennds, so i really dont suggest you try flamming the biggest coding group.
