Alien vs Predator from Revellion Developments - Image 1

Rebellion Developments, the studio behind the PSP games Star Wars Battlefront, Alien Vs Predator and The Simpsons Game, is now stepping out of its shell and moving on to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms.

As a jumping point for their shift to the next-gens, their first project is the sequel to Eidos Interactive's Shellshock, which CEO Jason Kingsley describes as:

[A] very [...] mature product, it's a bit like Jacob's Ladder or Apocalypse Now in movie terms. It's troubling – deliberately so – it's meant to be challenging the nature of war, the horror and why people do these horrific things to each other. "It'll be our first next-gen title, which is slightly nervewracking, but it's looking absolutely lovely.

So far they've only worked on licenses from other sources, but eventually they hope to move on to original IPs next year. Because the studio also has a horror and sci-fi book imprint (Abaddon Books), they also plan to come out with cross media licensing in the future, even branching out to include TV and films. The company will not (completely) abandon the PSP, however.
