IGN got to have a little chat with Virtua Tennis 3 producer Christopher Kaminski, and the details for the game are in no way little at all. Covering all grounds for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PSP versions, Kaminski served out the aces on the features, the downloadable content, and the controls, among many more other tidbits. You can enter into tournaments or casually challenge people to a single match. I think what really makes the Virtua Tennis 3 online offering so interesting is the VT:TV feature. It's an enhanced version of spectator mode, which serves a couple of great purposes... Secondly, you have the ability to watch the matches of the top one hundred players world wide, or keep an eye on how any of your friends are doing in their matches. The PSP version has been ported from the console version and built to PSP specs. We've included as much of all the original gameplay features and modes as best we could given the hardware's specs. We've also built in ad hoc wi-fi multiplayer functionality... so that friends can play and have fun together. |

this looks good for a psp game
It would be nice is QJ would either a: use actual psp screens or b: clearly state when they're not psp screens.
and another Virtua Tennis ad from QJ.
no online for ps3 version? They should of just saved their money and not even made a ps3 version. Stupid microsoft co*k-sucking companies.
You get what you paid for! HAHA!! Now run along and play on that free online service that you speak so highly of, Ill be here playing real online games on my awesome 360.
Wii60 FTW!
I absolutely cannot wait for the PSP version, since I don't plan on buying a 360 or PS3
no infraestructure mode on the psp version.
how gay is that?
that's not gay. YOU are gay.
I don't know what's happens, no online for VT3 PS3, no 1080p for VF5 on PS3 US...
SEGA please don't accept more money from Microsoft, think for for the players of PS3 thanks...
If it's just a timing problem, i hope SEGA make a futur online mode for PS3
BTW, this is not aimed at PS3 fans, I only hate fanboys (of all consoles).
"IGN: Is the 1080p mode for the Xbox 360 version up-scaled or is it natively rendered at that resolution?
Christopher Kaminski: The 360 version will absolutely feature natively rendered graphics in 1080p. It's the real deal. We developed all the characters and environments at a very high level of detail specifically with these next generation platforms in mind."
I remember last year when all the PS3 fanboys were making a big deal out of 1080p on the PS3 because of 1080i on the 360. Then after the 1080p update on the 360, those same fanboys were saying it's not native 1080p on the 360 but only 720p upscaled.
So what do you have to say now kids? :D Especially idiots like Broken_Hero and Vietone. Remember what you said when Virtua Tennis was first announced to be 1080p on the PS3 Vietone?
http://ps3.qj.net/PS3-Virtua-Tennis-3-Will-Run-at-1080p-/pg/49/aid/66393
Vietone wrote: "1080p rules, screw what microsoft says, I refuse to run any game I play on my 1080pHDTV at less then 1080p.".
So, running all your PS3 games at 1080p then? ;)
idk who your talking about but you have no life to have gone through the trouble finding that..... why dont you go outside and get a life maybe a gf or something around those lines...
...but I found it easy because I read it recently, together with numerous other BS from Vietone and Broken_Hero.
"why dont you go outside and get a life maybe a gf or something around those lines... "
Woah, rock and rock man, you really live life to the full. Go tell your friends about your online adventures, I'm sure they will be REALLY impressed. :P
LOL! What a complete idiot you are! What do you think posting here instead of being OUTSIDE makes you? LOL! Can't you see how stupid it is? What next, you'll go onto a forum to call someone a geek?
LOL! Kids.
did you do know that if you click on the 'listed in' link for Virtua tennis you'll get to fbh's link easily on the third page? i click on 'listed in' check old news stories and forum posts myself sometimes, cause i like to read up on what had gone before since i'm not here every day and sometimes don't come here for months. so i guess i should go outside more and get a girlfirend too, except i do have lots of outdoor activities (especially sports like squash) and i do have a gf.
so it's dumb to tell people online to get a life and all that rubbish, cause we are all nerds and geeks for being here in the first place, whether we like it or not! so you shouldn't say things like that online, cause it's like quasimodo calling the elephant man ugly (ever heard of 'pot calling the kettle black! hehe)
that said, fbh, i agree with what you said, but... finding that link was a little ... er ...extreme. perhaps you hate fanboys a little too much! :D
I thought I can't be the only one with sufficient reading skills to browse through previous QJ game reports and forum comments.
We had recent news about Lair here too. So I read the report, and then browsed through some of the previous reports to remind myself of what's been said about the game before.
"it's like quasimodo calling the elephant man ugly"
Exactly! LOL!
And yeah, perhaps I hate fanboys too much, but I find their weak spineless insecurities and biased foolish attitudes really irritating. IMO, all fanboys should be stuffed into a sack and thrown into the river to drown (yeah, I know, that's a bit harsh... correction, VERY harsh ;)).
360 doesnt have HDMI so it will never be "Full HD" just to remind 360 fanboys
HD is defined by the resolution, not the port.
no, jnd is correct. look it up. HDMI is the only connection that can transport 1080p. component/composite is not capable of full HD.
How do you suppose 360 gamers are running games at 1080p? By magic? Think Sega are just imagining 1080p for Virtua Tennis 3? Think games like Lost Planet and Blue Dragon are achieving 1080p via HDMI on the 360?
I suppose these cables work by magic too!
http://www.hdtvsupply.com/coca10te1.html
Although it's not 1080p via component on the 360, it offers 1080p via the HD-VGA adapter. You have heard of VGA haven't you? No really, look it up if you don't know what it is.
HDMI is simply a digital port with both video and audio. Component video is analog and split into two or more components (hence the name). VGA is the Video Graphics Array, which is also analog but has been used on PCs for years.
So no, jnd is WRONG, so-called 'Full HD' (1080p) is available on BOTH consoles.
Can i run virtua tennis 3 on my psp with 3.03 oe-c?
Does it actually say in the article that there is no online? I am actually asking because I dont want to go read it. Because if it doesnt specifically say no online, then that does not mean no online.
Even as recent as last week here on QJ;
http://ps3.qj.net/Sega-serves-an-update-for-Virtua-Tennis-3/pg/49/aid/82064
"The company further announced (to Gamasutra) that the 1080p resolution can also be expected of the PS3 launch, though this port would not be featuring online play in lieu of its SIXAXIS tilt-motion support. According to a Sega spokesman, the move was done in order to ensure both versions of the game carried their own unique features."
I`m dissapointed it doesn`t have infastructure mode. I think it would be so much more enjoyable if you could challange people online. I love the virtua tennis series.. but infastructure mode would definately make me buy it!
