Here's some great news for the PSP community courtesy of the website PSPGen: any time now they will release an update for Custom Firmware 5.02 GEN-A, which was released last January by Miriam. This new custom firmware is called Custom Firmware 5.03GEN-A for HEN. So what's the fuss about this new custom firmware?
Well, PSPGen promises that this new custom firmware is a complete and functional custom firmware for all PSP's including the PSP 3000. This is being developed by a new developer with the code name GENyUS and uses a completely original installation procedure. The website promises that anytime now they will release this new custom firmware and assures the community that this is just the beginning. In the meantime, watch the video below to see the Custom Firmware 5.03GEN-A for HEN in action and don't forget to check back here for updates on this great news. Enjoy. Previous article: |

» THIS IS PURE AWESOMENESS!!!
FIRST!!
oh and. Is it possible to reboot the PSP and it still being in HEN-A??? If so then I'm really happy and might consider buying a PSP 3000. I have the PSP 2000 at the moment, bought this one at the release. I want the PSP 3000 for the mic and the good screen. Screw scanlines, I dont notice any of em.

the brand new installation phrase
has me sceptical, theres not much other ways to install something than to install it,
different ways to load it
and different ways to execute the installation
and different ways to by pass security to install

video also looks risky, just skipped pass parts the only thing i can see thats is proven different is the iso loader
but did he load an iso, also because of the high contrast of the screen and darkness, he also has the psp positioned near perfectly in the center of the screen , its not direct video output
and so hes obviously had time to set it up right
people only usually go into that detail if they need to trick the eyes, he could have a stand or something
where he uses HEN psp
then another homebrew enabled psp and swicth them during a dark screen
a more likely thing would be a already homebrew enabled psp loading chick-hen, him restarting the psp and then loading the iso through the installed m33 on the psp

emcp, of all the nitpicking I have seen... watch the video at 5:50, it's pretty clear it's using TV out or similar.

» Wha...?
Why does the capacity of the memory stick change?
309 mb when loading ChickHEN, over 2000 mb when launching the installer. Also, why such a long pause on System Settings? Hiding a jump-cut?
Also, can it survive a full reboot, or loaded every time you do a fresh boot?
Anyway, if its real good for them.

This is either completely fake or it is just Custom Firmware Enabler.
And please, this is NOT a custom firmware. Since when did it take 2 seconds to flash a firmware?

theres so many fake points in this video
this is probably a psp 2000 running remote joy (thats why the video quality is so good) and its very easy to use the firmware spoofer plugin to change thier firmware to anything
tbh i could do an exact copy of this fake video in about 10 minutes

for a start, he never ACTUALLY shows the system information AFTER he supposedly "installs" the 5.03 Gen-A. And as said above why does it only take 2 sec to flash the firmware? AND he never shows rebooting it... There is just soooo much I am not believing at the moment. And as said above by misthero DAX commented a while ago when chickHEN was released saying something about not wanting to make an ISO loader because he doesn't support privacy.

» 98% sure this is REAL
I've witnessed the 3000 only Color Space option every time System Settings was accessed: 5.03, 5.03 ChickHEN R2, and 5.03 GEN-A [FULL]. The memory stick available space can be explained by a change in memory stick: one for easy ChickHEN (maybe there are cuts in the filming because of embarrasingly long time to flash chickHEN!?!) another for ISOs. PSPident (whatever the name is) also showed the PSP as a brite v1.0 (3000). apparently something was flashed to this psp that wasn't cfw enabler that allowed both ISOs and PSX to be played on the 3000. Also, it couldn't be a version spoof that created the name 5.03 Gen-a [full] because using that leaves a gap between your version and nickname/mac adress in the system info(in my experience) So stop the naysaying! (you will find out tonight if its true anyways...)

» Perfect timing
Be good if it is real, but right in the middle of E3 is the perfect time for a fake with all the gaming journos herded together where a faker could watch his work being discussed, but fingers crossed anyway.

» Wondering
Well i wonder if they fixed the video clipping in this release. 5.02 GEN-A had some serious video clipping goin on. did it on both my phats and the slim...i then reflashed to good ol dax's 5.00 M33-6 ans baddabing...video clipping was non-existent. However I hope this is for real but like so many have commented it is really hard to believe. And as far as the new PSP-GO is concerned there is in no way i'll buy that. Think about how you are going to hold that on the bottom edge while using the keypads and stick while the weight of the unit is extended out away from your grip... make it real easy to drop or to control a game like socom when yur in the heat of battle. I think i'll stick with my slim and use time machine.
