Because we are... ahem, we appreciate automation.

Dark_Alex's new 3.03 OE-A's Popstation will now handle compressed ISOs. TheAceOfFire's AutoPopstation puts the "Auto" in the name of the program by handling a few tasks for you in the process of compressing what is on your CD into something that will be (a) on your PSP and (b) hopefully smaller. Here's how AutoPopstation holds your hand and tells you that everything is going to be okay:
  • Checks to make sure you have all the dll's installed, installs them if you don't have them.
  • Checks to make sure you have the Hot Shot 2 files correctly named and placed.
  • Displays all ISO's and BIN's, and asks you which one to choose.
  • You can view all inputs before running the program, and redo them if there is a problem.
  • After running, it creates a folder based on the ISO name inside Results, which you can simply move to your (/psp/game) folder.
When compressed, results will run ONLY on 3.03 OE-A. Results, even when uncompressed, may not run on 3.02 OE-B due to some changes - on the other hand, everyone and their brother must have scrambled to upgrade custom firmware by now. Finally, PAL PSX disc owners, sorry, but you may experience some graphical glitches. Everything else, read the Readme.

Thanks to TheAceOfFire for sending this in!

 » don't be dumb

only an idiot would think with that kind of logic. The number of people with 3.03OE compared to those with legit firmwares is pathetically small, so why would we affect the price of an entire genre, and a generation, of games?

that's right. we won't

;P

Is this similar to PSX2PSP v.0.7.1 ???

 » ?¿

will the ISO´s compressed with AutoPopstation then work on coming custom FW´s from D_A ?

it would be rather senseless to shrink all my psx-games now with this tool just to realise i cant use them anymore when 3.03 OE-B (or whatever-version) is released?

kthx

This will ONLY work on 3.03 OEA and (I assume) above. Dark Alex has done a great job of keeping each version of his firmware compatable... You can still run your 3.02 OEB PSX eboots for example.

Yeah great answer. Now if only he had actually asked about anything at all that you mentioned.

Everytime i use this tool, there are no problems, but when i would load the game, my psp shows me a screen "Please activite your system to use.. bla" is there one possibility to aktivate the psp without a PS3 ? i hope someone can help me -.-

You have to have 3.03 OE-A
NOT the official Sony 3.03 FW
And there's no way to downgrade, and won't be for quite some time.

 » hmm..

I'd like a program that will rip my PSX CD, removes the dummy, compress the iso, and convert to PSP format :)
this would be lovely.. and kinda legal..
since having the requirement of PSX ISOs, people more like to download them from other sources, instead ripping their games.. btw I think this might be also legal, if you own the original..
so pointless comment :D

It's illegal unless you rip it yourself.

» I don't know if I'm doing this wrong or something...

I downloaded this and all that seem to be in there is Dark_AleX's Popstation. There's two png images in there that are from this guy, but that's it. Am I missing something?

Any chance this and other front ends could include .img provision along with .iso and ..bin? They still work with Popstation, but it's a pain to always *.*/all files just to see my image.

 » psx image extraction

yea. well I was just wondering if anyone has any good programs other than clone cd that extrace psx image files good. Because so far I have re-extracted the iso about 50 times. I'm serious. It always freezes at a spot on the game in ff7 (Buagahn's video lifestream part) and I just want to get on with playing it. Yes I have also re-encoded to eboot with all different popstations too.

 » Help

If anybody downloads their games off gametorrents, are you able to compress them with this. When you download the games off gametorrents they give you a main .rar folder with the eboot and keys.bin and other .rar folders. everytime I compress the main .rar folder with the eboot and keys.bin in it, it works but when I try to play it, I get a blank screen. Can someone help me!!!
