Awaker demo from Team xtreamlua - Image 1

The xtreamlua team (composed of Poinson_xtreamlua, genevois, and alexel) just released another game as an entry for the Xtreamlua & Gx-mod contest. This comes right after their previous homebrew game, Ukke, from just a few hours ago. This time around, things get more psychedelic with Awaker. It's just a demo, mind you, and a game coded in Lua. However, that doesn't mean it's utterly bad. Fact of the matter is, it's quite well done and addicting as it is.

The object of the game is simple (as most addicting games tend to be): reach the finish line before your opponent. You control the black box by holding Right on the D-pad. If you keep it held even before the level starts, your enemy will get a head start, so you better keep your thumb away from the button until the go signal. Bonus orbs also drop from time to time, and if you manage to catch them, your speed increases.

Now of course, the race has a catch. In every level, there are towers that emit "static fields." If you find yourself within these fields, it'd do you good to stay put. Moving in a static field will instantly transport you back to the start. Think of it as some sort of "Red Light, Green Light" game.

This demo version has six levels available with two modes - normal and expert. For the final release though, Poison_xtreamlua promises nine levels.

 » It's ADDICTIVE

You have to worry about the professionalism of a website where the journalists make the #1 grammatical error that internet kiddies make nowadays. It's NOT addicting, it's addictIVE. Get it? Got it? Remember it! If you don't believe me, then you have some homework for Sunday.

I enjoyed this game a lot. It is pretty addicting and challenging later on. The computer doesnt really beat you a lot, more so you beat yourself. I Recommend this game, it is def worth a play.
