Looking at these screens is such a trip down memory lane! Star Ocean: Second Evolution is dropping pretty soon, so some of you (myself also included) probably want to revisit The Second Story from the PSOne era. I can pick out some of the memorable characters - Claude and Rena, of course, and then there's Ashton and his double dragons (teehee, pun!), Precis and her robot arms, Celine and her flying cape... and yet no Opera Vectra?! Leaving out my fave female character in any RPG from these screens sounds like blasphemy. We can't have a "big, bold, and beautful" screenshot feast without her, now can we? Bah. The remake is very welcome though. I wasn't able to beat Indalecio the first time around (one of the hardest RPG bosses evar!). Here's hoping I get to pwn his sissy ass in Second Evolution. Big batch of gameplay screens, anime cutscene captures, and battle shots ahead! Square Enix's Star Ocean: Second Evolution hits North America on January 20. Related articles:

» I hope there's an option to remove triple attack.
In Star Ocean First Departure, it was a flaw in the game if you asked me. I can't think of how it'd be any better when playing Second Evolution, especially when Second Story did it perfectly fine with how your single attack can combo into itself a bit, with a character like Ashton being able to repeatedly use the single attack with a guaranteed much her right than what the triple attack will be, I'm sure.
Then just wait until you get the best weapons. Triple attack will make every ability completely useless.

I'm still waiting on the first one! I was going to buy it a few weeks back but my girlfriend is getting it me for xmas instead, haha. No way I'll beat it before this one is out too but it also looks brilliant.
Between Eternia, Star Ocean 1 and 2 and Popolocrois, all I need now is Golden Sun 3 and I'm set.
