We haven't seen a shortage of Sony PlayStation Portable homebrew games in the  likeness of the Nintendo franchise star Super Mario (Try Mario Land, the latest of the lot). At first glance, you will definitely not include the homebrew platform game Bob in: the Ice Age from coder Mr. Dynamic in that group.

With a yellow smiley character named Bob and items ranging from a size-enlarger egg, golden coins, blocks, a fire flower, and a star which will render you temporarily invincible, Bob in: the Ice Age cannot deny its strong Super Mario inspiration. Don't let that faze you; that only means fun.

Actually, Bob in: the Ice Age refers to the game Super Tux as its closest kin. If you haven't encountered Super Tux, it is a 2003 2D platform game featuring the Linux mascot Tux - and still inspired by the Super Mario series. So see? All the same.

Homebrew developer Mr Dynamic has made the most of Bob in: the Ice Age by designing twenty-six levels and two bonus islands for all of us. The enemies are fun too, retaining the names of Super Tux' foes. Check them out:

You can also download custom levels and even cheats from the official site of Mr. Dynamic. However, be informed that this game only works for a 1.50 kernel-equipped Sony PSP. If you want to play it on a 3.xx kernel, you have to use an e-loader. Homebrew dev Mr Dynamic has stated that work is being done so you wouldn't need the e-loader. Installation instructions are included in the file, please check it first.
