Some things just refuse to die, says the team behind PSP Galaxy magazine. Actually, good things are kinda hard to kill. If you're a PSP Galaxy fan, take heart. The magazine is alive, kicking and has just released their 15th issue. In this latest issue of PSP Galaxy magazine, you can read up on the following:

PSP Galaxy Issue No.15 is also the first issue for the magazine's new graphic designer Evilution. We've seen his work and he's pretty good. Why would any one kill such a great magazine in the first place, anyway?

Bounty Hounds Logo

Namco Bandai's Bounty Hounds have kept us tied around its fingers since last year. Who wouldn't be? With its incredible images and gripping storyline, all the delays seem like coquettish games, planned to keep us all the more entranced.

Firmware 2.80 users will have the chance to take on the role of Maximilian, leader of the no mercy group of mercenaries, Bounty Hounds. The group is at war against an alien race called ETI (Extraterrestrial Intelligence) over the colonization of new interplanetary territories while trying to find habitable planets that humans can live in, with this downloadable demo for the game.

Maybe 2.80 users can fill us in on the good and bad points of this game. Submit a game review on MyPSPUpdates perhaps? But, before we get ahead of ourselves, click on the download link first to access the playable demo.

A.D.A.M. is out this week!

If you've got some extra cash lying around and you just can't wait for the next homebrew game you're following to come out, the games below could provide you with much needed entertainment. They're all coming out this week, so you could check your local retailers if they've got them. Here are the PSP game releases:
  • Bomberman - The classic goes handheld. It's bound to be oodles of fun. Unless of course, Konami's brand of portable nostalgia isn't your cup of tea.
  • Bounty Hounds - Colonize other planets, kill up to 40 types of aliens, 500 weapons and armor types, this might be bucket-loads of third person action fun. We've got screens here if you want to see more of Namco Bandai's fun fun game.
  • LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy - And the LucasArts franchise continues...
  • NHL '07 - The expected yearly update from Electronic Arts. If you're not into this genre, bad news because it's mostly more of the same, but if you are, then good news, more of the same, but this time it is portable.
  • Rengoku II: The Stairway to HEAVEN - A.D.A.M. is back, and this time the android and makers Hudson Soft and Konami have got downloadable content for you to enjoy. Content aside, the game also features better stage design, an updated battle system, and up to 4 player wireless play. Android war action.
If you're not that much into handheld games but you like to watch a movie every now and then, say, while your teacher or boss is giving a very boring lecture, here are the PSP UMD ISO releases set for this week: The Best of Super Speeders; Gracie Legends in Action, Vol. 1; and Teddybear Crisis.

I'm a Mixed-Martial-Arts fan myself, so I think I'll be churning out some bucks for Gracie Legends. That's it for now. We'll keep you updated on the games listed above whenever we get word or discover something nifty.

Bounty Hounds

Namco Bandai has now officially confirmed the earlier revealed North American release date for their long-awaited action title for PSP, Bounty Hounds. The company will be shipping the title next week, Tuesday, September 12. Those who have been anticipating the game's release finally have reason to celebrate, as Bounty Hounds had been subject to numerous delays for a long time: Namco Bandai initially scheduled it for a release in Fall 2005; one year later, the game's now heading to shelves for good.

Bounty Hounds' story revolves around Maximilian, a leader of a band of ruthless mercenaries whose sole job is to scout out planets deemed fit for habitation, take part in battle, or clean up fallen opponents after the battle takes place. As Maximilian, players use a wide array of weapons and equipment to take down a variety of enemies in a free-roaming game world. Stylistic cutscenes in a comic-book look aid in progressing the story, where an intriguing plot unfolds that surrounds hostile aliens, greedy corporations and mysterious extraterrestrial intelligence.

UMD Gamesharing will also be supported, allowing players to go head to head against their friends, so all in all, there's no reason not to look forward to the game when it hits stores next Tuesday.

Expect Bounty Hounds reviews to drop in soon, and if anyone of you is going to buy it, let us know what you think about it!

Imagine this scenario: you're an intergalactic mercenary hired to kill aliens.

In a nutshell, this is the plot of the upcoming game from Namco, Bounty Hounds. Set in the 24th century, you step in the shoes of Maximillian the mercenary. See, humans "have expanded beyond Earth to colonize other planets." Thing is, those "other planets" already have alien inhabitants. So the solution? Obliterate all hostile alien life-forms, or Extraterrestrial Intelligence (ETI), to be exact. As a mercenary, you're going to be the one who has to do all the alien-killing.

In this PSP game, there are about 500 weapons, with various armors to be placed on five different body parts, with four attributes (Heat, Plasma, Bio and Laser) that you could equip your weapons with, and various types of alien enemies that have different attack patterns (some may be the close-range types, while other lug long-range ammo with them).

What makes this game unique is that it was specifically designed for a handheld console, not just a version of other console games made to fit a portable. To ensure this, the developers made a graphics engine "that is optimized for viewing in portable console screens." Players also get to see in-game cut scenes whenever they're aboard the mother ship, Quicksilver, so that they won't lose track of the game's story.

It also features two different multiplayer modes. One is called Game Sharing, where players could download snippets of the game from the net and play against each other. On the other hand, players who have a copy of the game disc could play against each other by hooking up their PSPs.

Players should expect lots of action, smooth controls and various references to previous Namco games. It is scheduled to be released by the end of the year, so you might want to check it out.

In Bounty Hounds you take the role of Maximilian, a bounty hound. His mission requires him to battle different alien species spread across planets while trying to know more about a sinister plot that threatens to take over the world. Utilizing an arsenal of 500 different different weapons and armor items, you can roam the world freely while on the hunt. You may also battle head-to-head with an included multiplayer versus mode, which can be played via Game Share.

In the future, humans will have the technology to colonize new planets, but the problem is the indigenous creatures won't always be willing to give up their land. In Bounty Hounds, your goal is to take out as many aliens as possible in this third-person combat thriller. Planned for release in mid-June, Bounty Hounds will feature over 500 weapons and armor setups at your disposal against 40 distinct alien species across four different worlds. You'll be able to dual wield two different types of weapons to change up your battle style, and the advanced AI system will make sure that the game is never the same two times through. Wireless multiplayer options will also allow you and a friend to duke it out head-to-head.

Well we haven't seen anything new from Bounty Hounds since October of last year. Today that is going to change as we have some new screenshots from Namco Bandai's upcoming action game. In the game you take on the role of Maximillian who must fight against aliens to foil their plans to take over the world. The game features more than 500 different weapons and armor, 40 types of aliens, and 40 missions. The game is scheduled to be released on July 25th, so the wait is almost over. Until then go ahead and check out some of these screens and hopefully they will hold you over until July.
