UK's still on the warpath against irresponsible gaming, it seems. This time, it's not a game that's being condemned by British authorities, but rather, an advertisement for one of the games. The ad in question, pictured above, is for Burnout Dominator, a racing game for the PSP, and it's under fire from the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) for being irresponsible, following public complaints. |

I liked it. ;)
Thats funny.... can't anyone take a joke anymore
Britain is starting to sound worse than America when it comes to censorship.
right, this is getting ridiculous
new prime minister today Gordon Brown hmmmmmm wonder what he will be like
thats so stupid its only a game for f*ck sakes
I can't believe how stupid the UK is getting these days. They better watch out, or their education level will be as low as America's education level.
uk suckas are uneducated neway
that ad is sick, i think i'll use it as my PSP wallpaper. Come on peopl, this is GOOD advertising.
lol i just put it as my wallpaper (let the self zoom leave two sides not reaching the screen) and I must say, its looks badass.
and the txt fits perfectly between the icons......was sony expecting us to use it as a wallpaper.
The only times ever I did that was with friends...
HAHAHAHAHA! OH MY GOD! What the hell were they thinking!? HAHAHA!
What the hell is going on with the world against video games. First they ban Manhunt 2, then New York passes a new bill against selling violent video games, now this. I'm pretty sure no one is gonna go out doing dumb ***** because they saw it on a billboard. Whats the difference between seeing that image and slogan from playing it in the game? I wouldn't go out doing dumb ***** from something like that or a game. Just like I would jump off a building cause I saw superman do it in soo many cartoons as I heard littles kids did some time ago.
People making those claims should get an education first. They mean well but this sounds like the old do now think later.I could kill 50 children meaning well , that doesnt mean it's right. So frickin stupid, damnit.Get you're head out of your as*
they should shoot those people in the face , repeatedly ,with a crossbow. If we let everyone who finds something offensive get their way , we could as well end society now , as EVERY social interaction would just be banned.I dont like people eating! It's offensive to me al those people sticking stuff in their mouthes.Stop eating now!
They should ban movies that use guns and violence, cuz you know movies have better graphics than games, so they might encourage ppl more........and are you kidding me
little by little our freedom of feeling is being regulated by the govt
Jesus, the people who say an ad like this will make people crash cars for fun and hurt innocent people are the same people who just let 25,000 criminals back on the bloody streets because keeping them in prison was hurting their end of year bonus.
The same people who tell christians they cant wear a cross pendant because it may offend people of other religions, yet they have no problem invading Iraq illegally.
The same people who tell us to share cars, use public transport and save energy to stop global warming, yet they drive around in SUV's and jet around the world everyday on so called 'world relations' trips.
The same people who tell us we cant say anything negative to, or punish our kids for being naughty and wonder why the yob culture is rife.
The same people who cut NHS funding and complain when patient waiting lists grow.
The same people who ram terrorism down our throats putting the fear of death into us and wonder why public order is breaking down.
But its not the governments fault. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. (sarcasm)
Bunch of a-holes.
Its not actually the governments fault. If they act reasonable and say "go away you nutter , go get a job" the entire public pounces on them and they get their behind handed to them on a silver platter.Ultimately I blame the media for this , as they tend to blow this WAY out of proportion making the people distrust the government. And the only logical reaction the government can have is "lets give that idiot what he wants so we're out of the sh*t"
Skirrow - Just wanted to agree with you 100%, what you said its a perfect reflection of millions... I will sleep better after that knowing that someone else shares my views with this subject... do we leave the uk in disgust?
yeah im so gonna look at that ad and then do exactly what that ad does. yeah, kill myself in just that kind of manner.. yeah..
The problem is that is says "Inner peace through outer violence." Basically, the message is: "You'll be happy if you go around harming people."
I find this funny as hell, but at the same time, I think, "What the hell is wrong with these people?" This is just like what happened with the Hot Coffee thing. You can blame it on modders and stuff all you want but it always comes back to the fact that Rockstar left the content in there in the first place. You didn't think people would find it in there? What the hell is wrong with you?
Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with violence, drugs, and sexuality in games. However, developers and marketers need to use some common damned sense.
