CPS1PSP, CPS2PSP, MVSPSP, NCDZPSP v2.2.1 emulators - now with Adhoc support - Image 1If you loved the emulator collection NJ released yesterday, then today should be like early Christmas for you. QJ.NET Forum poster StoneCut managed to spot a new update to not one, not two, but all of the emulators previously released by the homebrew developer. Get ready for this special treat, because version 2.2.1a of CPS2PSP, CPS1PSP, MVSPSP, and NCDZPSP support Adhoc connection. Each and every one.

To truly broaden the pool of pals you can pull into your emulated gaming sessions, NJ also released compatible versions for the PSP-1000 or the PSP Phat. Coupled with the updated PSP Slim & Lite compilations, retro gamers can get their PSP Slim comrades and PSP Phat cousins to enjoy Capcom Play System (1 or 2), Neo Geo CD System, or Neo Geo Multi-Video System (whichever floats your boat best).

Now it's important to note that you'll need to mix and match each version to its counterpart on the opposite system, because Capcom Play System 2 on the Phat will only connect to Capcom Play System 2 on the Slim and vice versa. We've listed the downloads below in the original order that forum member StoneCut placed them, to preserve the user's intent and to minimize confusion.

Speaking of confusion, the bundled readme isn't in English. So if you don't know how to get the right version to run on your PlayStation Portable, you can always have it "babelized" via online translation sites. If that doesn't help much, it wouldn't hurt to ask for help at QJ.NET's PSP Development Forums.

NJ is a legend - downloading all as fast as I can!

» that is a LOT of different versions

Does anyone know if the phat version uses the ME? Is it faster in any way?

Why differentiate a phat and slim release if the slim version works on all psps?

   Re: prime - 2007-10-04
 » ok

actually it's only 2 versions my bad. but the question still stands, if Slim works on all, what benefit is the phat version?

in any case, thanks NJ!!!!

it doesn't require 3.71 m33 - so I can use it with 3.52 m33-4 :D

Thanks for updating these awesome emulators NJ... but how about a Midway T-Unit (midtunit.c) emulator. It would be great to have MK,MK2 arcade versions for the PSP, because MAT:EP doesn't do justice to how good those games are.

 » in my case...

it seems my cps2 2.06 runs better, i have no idea why... and i cant find the pause (menu) on 2.2.1, it used to be the home button...! Other than that, great release!! :D

 » oh...

it's start + select, my bad... i'm still running these two versions together to compare...

 » Another Noob question?

Prepare yourself because this is a really Noob Question. It seems like this is an emulator for capcom ps1 and ps2's I'm not sure still working with the Rom's but THE QUESTION Is How FAR DOES THIS GO.... We can't play games like Devil May Cry or Onimusha can we? that would be sick if we could .

 » CPS not PS

Capcom did not make the PS1 or PS2, those are Sony products. The CPS1 and CPS2 are Capcom arcade hardware. They play games like Street Fighter II, 1944, Vampire Savior and Super Puzzle Fighter II to name a few.

 » 222 goodness

NJ I love you, can I have your children for you?
The new CPS2 emulator runs many games at 222mhz!!! I don't know why someone said this version is worse than an older one, I can't remember a version since the one made for 1.5 only in Kernal mode that would play the games great at 222, and it took cache files for each game. I'm on a slim, so no cache!!! Oh and because of the extra ram on the slim, no more slight slowdown when loading massive numbers of sprites! ^_^

» Oh I got it now

Oh I got you ... I probably won't use this one as much though.... more of an Rpg/ shooter / platformer ....na I take it back ...I kick ass wit arcade fighters too! I know ps2 emulation is close to impossible but I will wait patiently. I use emulators frequently and the only problem I 've had is with final fantasy VII ...when I pass the first disk it tells me to stick in a second disk and when I load the second disk it doesn't read the save from the first disk....anyone have a fix for this problem?
