PSPWhen we say NJ is hardworking, we really mean it. Just yesterday, we reported on his CPS2PSP update, but waddya know, he came up with yet another update to his project. Isn't that great or what?

For those who aren't in the know, CPS2PSP is a Capcom Play System 2 emulator specifically made for the PSP. It's created by Japanese dev NJ, who, as I said earlier, has been updating it on a regular basis.

If you're wondering what v1.61 has to offer, check out the notes made by NJ himself (which we got from his site). Do note that this is just a rough translation made by Google, so if you have something better, we'd sure appreciate it if you'll give us a heads-up:

  • X-MEN VS. The floor being destroyed with Street, Fighter after falling, the picture normally
  • Correcting the bug which has stopped being indicated.
  • Because perhaps as for big bug you think, that it is not, renewal of binary temporarily with this end?
  • If it seems that it cannot correspond to the new game, possibility of end is large this way, is.

Stop posting google translations, it just gets people more confused, and really isn't much use to read. Maybe if you translate it, then try interpreting what the translation could possibly mean, that might be better.

NJ the man!

has anyone got this to work. i put it in the 1.5 folder along with my games (sfa2) and it loads and loads some more then tells me loading error "cache" somthing??? "08". damn it. it's driving me crazy, what the hell is cache????

 » to shin mario noob

noob. u usually dont browse sites, forums or even boards, u usually dont read readmes, u usually go crazy for stupid things because u dont even look into rar files. ure a noob, a noob acts like that.
Into the rar that u got from here, there is a folder named CONVERTER. launch the cps2_converter.exe or cps2_conv_all.bat and choose the rom u wish to play. then, it creates a CACHE. whohoooo a cache file. move the contents of the cache directory from converter to ur cps2installation into GAME, and move the rom into roms folder. W/o cache, the rom cannot be started. Noob.
For the guy who talks without even try things out, mr nr.1 , this emu is perfect, and is the best arcade emu so far that u can ask, along of cps1. and the frame rate is a costant 60fps, so dont complain. it dropa some frames when it starts a round, but thats because it needs to load the cache. or maybe ure noob enough to be unable to setup the emulator correctly, check ur frameskip.

y'know you first off uploadin the file you notice you get a 'converter' folder along with 1.5 folder right? heres steps to get things working

1. under the converter folder go to the romcnv_cps2 file

2. it will ask you which game you want to convert. thats when you choose what game such as your sfa2 file

3. Once converted, under the same folder click onto cache file above on the top left, you will noctice a file you converted. make sure you right click and copy.

4. connect your psp and go to the 'cps1psp' folder. you'll notice theres a cache folder. remember the file you converted? just simply right click + paste it in there.

5. Now youre half done. so the sfa file (not the cache version) but from the rom you uploaded straight from the site. just pretty much drag it under the ROM folder. Then Close it out

6. Go + play the damn game! btw make sure you check the list of games that NJ warns of games that DOES NOT WORK just incase you dont get the game runnin. Hope it works out bro! btw make sure to press select to insert the coins haha

is this a mame emulator? i cant get cps2 roms to work, only mame, and the ones from the list is mame.

 » CPS2 Roms

Its based on the CPS2 Roms that are included in the MAME set since Mame seems to be the de facto standard in ensuring proper dumps and correct names.

 » Other system emulation

Is there a way to contact NJ? Looking at his source I am sure there is a way to make new emulators to support other systems within MAME such as Raizing, Cave, Toeplan. Yeah, I'd like to see some more shooters working on the PSP and his method of breaking down mame to run these separate emus can be tested for other systems including Konami, etc.
If I had any know-how, I would be testing this right now importing the info from mame to his source and compiling.
