CWcheat DB editor - Image 1

To spice up your PSP and PSX games, Pasky from the PSP-Hacks forums released a whole load of applications that tie in with Weltall's CWcheat homebrew application. The first application we have is a CWcheat database editor, which comes in two versions - a standard version for PSP UMD games and a POPS version for use with emulated PSX games. With these two applications you can add, modify, delete, and organize the cheats for your games - whether it be for newish UMDs or classic PSX titles.

The next application that Pasky has coded is the PEC database converter, an application which will convert PEC Gameshark cheat codes (obtainable via the official site) into a POPS compatible format.

Have fun cheating your way through your games, and to be honest we don't think there is possibly any other way to get more cheats for PSX or PSP games just yet....until another CWcheat release maybe? By the way, you will need the Microsoft .NET framework 2.0 installed. And yes, Mac/Linux users, this means you must be running Windows to use any of these applications.

For you convenience we've bundled the CWcheat database editors and the DB converters as they are only small files. Catch all the downloads below!

 » Database size limit

I noticed that this doesn't mention that there is a limit to the size of the database. With the PEC converter, you'll get about about a 4MB db if you just copy that. But weltall said that db's over 250kb are untested and one that is too large will crash your game, but I believe weltall may be working on a fix for this problem. Anyways here's what Pasky13 had to say about it:

"In other words, it's not mine or CWcheats fault, the PSP just doesn't have enough memory to load such a huge database while both the game and CWcheat are running until Weltall comes up with a workaround. I suggest you convert the database file. Go through it in a text editor and cut and paste the game you want to use into your pops database."

 » Need Assistance!

I have CW cheat installed and I can access it by holding select in one my psx games. However, when I check the cheat list, my cheat data base doesn't seem to load! I'm running it on 3.02 oe-B. Does any one know why this is happening??
