Team n:exp who released the PSP file scanner AntiTroj last week is at it again, this time with a Game SaveData editor. Not only that, but it works running on the PSP itself. For those of you who don't know, PSP Game SaveData is encrypted, but Team n:exp's program decrypts the file and makes it editable. You can even use Cheatworks to make a file editable on your PC:

PSP's savedata is encrypted to prevent you from editing it. But you use Cheatworks PSP Type S, you can edit savedata on your PC.

* Create backup to export decrypted data.
* Open /PSP/SAVEDATA/(opening savedata dir)/(data file).backup And edit it (you must not change file size)
* Restore active state from backup to apply.
* Just save it.
Make sure you read the full documentation included with the download! I played around with this application a bit and it locks up frequently, but it is a beta release and with your constructive input and assistance, those kind of bugs can easily be worked out.

Just an idea:
Could you change the savedata so that the GTA cheat device would work with the German version?

Either way, it's a cool programm.

Does anyone know how difficult it would be to find the values for unlocked cars in Burnout Legends?

I'd love to play through the world circuit mode again, no medals, but with all cars at my disposal.

Loonix,
Are you changing the size of the file? You must replace each bit with a single bit ONLY.

its a waste of time
why cheat it just defeats the object of the game

Well, beastlie, as much as I agree with you, because I would NEVER want to see people running around with unlimited health on Socom online, but the whole point of this is so now anyone can attempt to exploit game saves, so we can run unsignd code, or homebrew, on our PSPs!

What this means is we can continue to upgrade and upgrade and upgrade, yet never give up homemade games and applications. In another scenario, we could you this exploit to downgrade future versions of PSP firmware!

I hoped this helpped everyone out!

God bless!

Beastlie, you need to have an open mind more and realize that after people beat the game, say GTA or similar, it can be boring. Rather than wasting $50 on a game you will play once, why not add in an airplane, so you can fly? Make funny character models. Change the scoring system to make it harder. Add more health. Whatever. Thing is, cheating is just modding, and modding increases the playtime of the game. Sure online sheating sucks, but Sony should have a Punkbuster like thing rather than rely on their own lack of security. Cheating in a good way to extend the life of an already beaten game is not bad, itis fun and exciting.

If we could find a debug mode (like Action Replay on some PSone games) we may have a route to running some code.

@Beastlie
Some cheats are cool, not all of them help the player win! some unlock otherwise unplayable scenarios, and some things cannot be accessed without altering source code. (remember hot coffee!)

Long time no reply, sorry.

I dont think I change the filesize.
i just saved the backup, then to verify if it works i reencoded the backup.
When i compare the real original to the reencoded file via hexworksop32 they apear to have the same size, but total different contens.
=( probably its my european psp that encodes differently or popolocrois has a 'special' encryption. i did not try with other savegames.

Way to go Team n:exp!

I look forward to further development on all your projects. Keep up the good work!

Be Well,

It doesn't need to be used for cheats... Inspecially for games like Smackdown Vs. Raw you could make the ropes act like barbwire or something

Hey all - is there any support for this?

I'm very familiar with hex editing. I found a 24/32-bit code that matched my gold for PoPoLoCrois even the main characters experience rating but something keeps kicking back that the file is corrupt when I try to load the game.

Is there something to do with the timestamps maybe? Which games fail more often?
