Ó

Where are the brakes on this thing? While rumors still remain unanswered as to whether the PS3 will see a next-gen Wipeout addition to the series, at least its ancient ancestor will be making a comeback - for the PSP's PSOne emulator. Gamasutra reports that the Wipeout downloadable PSP-playable will slide into the PlayStation Store, along with the equally futuristic, equally racer, equally PSOne Jet Moto. Coming out when? No word on a date, TBA, we guess. Price stands at US$ 5.99 each.

Those two classics will share shelf space with a few other additions to the Store. There's the Blast Factor multiplayer pack for US$ 2.99, not to mention another PSOne classic Rally Cross. Downloadable content for Genji: Days of the Blade in the form of alternate costumes has also been placed on display. And if you're interested in videos, word is that the trailer for the PS2's God of War II will also make its way to the store.

 » I don't think you can

Line rider requires the latest version of flash and the PSP only supports version 6.

AFAIK, at least.

 » wipeout rips...?

does the original wipeout work when its ripped/popped(whatever) for the emulator? (or 2097/XL for that matter)
i only tried wip3out which worked wonderfully, and as far as game play it was every bit as entertaining as wipeout pure.

 » Yes

the Original WipEout and WipEou 2097/XL work with the CDDA-popstation.exe
This is at least what I've heard.
With the normal popstation.exe at least 2097 WON'T work (I tested that).
But I'm pretty sure Sony's official WipEout will take less space on the memory stick. Which is a good thing considering that the WipEout games take around ~500-600mb on the stick each.
I'll look forward to the game, hopefully they will release WipEout 2097/XL as well.

And be sure, if you "popped" the games by yourself, to patch the games to NTSC. Not just because you get rid of graphical bugs, but also because the game's to fast if not patched (it was this way with WipEout 3 Special Edition in my case).

And now give us infos about PS3's WipEout ;)
