No FFVII remake please. Nothing is ever the same after it comes out of retirement. Look @ Michael Jordan when he played for the Wizards. Great? Yes. Champion? No. Don't bring up his first retirement, since he came back on the same team. It's like, FFVII being released as Greatest Hits, nothing more. FFVII on the PS3 is Jordan on the Wizards.
Crisis Core? Yes...great move. :D
For the young ones who never played FF7 before might want a remake on newer consoles such as the psp or ps3. Enhence the graphics "WIll should attract the younger ones to the series.
Listen its already been stated that a Remake will happen when the time is right. So stop with your BS that no remake. Stop being selfish. This can bring in more money than the first one ever dreamed of.
LOL Stealth. Where was it stated that it was going to be remade? Proof? Where are the screens? Where are the articles. If any time was the right time to remake the game, it would be NOW. The PS3 has no killer apps, and looks like it will be in extinction without stellar system sellers like MGS4, FFXIII, and GT5.
Young gamers will never be able to appreciate FFVII because it came out in an era where gaming was beginning to mature. It's like asking a 12 year old to play Super Mario Bros. He/she would never appreciate how the platform genre was born from that game alone. Not only that, SMB was one of the games that single-handedly saved video games in the '80s. Still, if a new player were to experience that, it's "nothing" compared to what games are today. Purists would know and appreciate, but new gamers wouldn't.
FFVII made an impact in the industry. It's language was beyond what the industry was used to at the time. The CG was superb, the graphics were outstanding, the story was overly captivating. Basically, this game became the golden standard for RPGs today.
Which is why, remaking the game is a mistake. If a remake was made, do you know what kind of expectations there would be from millions around the world? Even the slightest missing detail can hinder its potential of being a great RPG. FFVII was a masterpiece that was perfected in its time. Remaking it will do it no justice.
1) The voice acting of certain characters will never satisfy the gamer. FFVII had no voice overs, but a remake will bring out two things. If there IS, people might be disappointed in the acting...like Tidus? If there isn't, new gamers will say it's redundant.
2) Enhanced graphics doesn't mean anything. Take a look at the 100s of remakes that have been made. Most of them suffer from repetitive gameplay, unoriginal gameplay, OR straying too far from the original. No matter how you look at it, it will never be "perfect" as its first incarnation, and a FFVII remake will never do the original any justice. Anyone remember MGS:Twin Snakes for the GC?
3) If Square Enix decides to release a remake, they would be considered greedy since remakes are all about cashing in on the old cow. Why would they want to tarnish a great franchise by making a subpar remake of it?
If it's anyone who's selfish, it's you. If it's a legendary game, keep it that way.
Well that's just lovely!
umm........1ST!........woot?
