DAX mixes it up: 3.03/3.10 OE mix for UP

Wondering what's the latest with Dark_AleX? Well, according to him, he will be out with his chipped PSP for a month so he decided to come up with something that will be appreciated by every UP user: 3.03/3.10 OE Mix for UP.

In simple terms, this is just an OE update for UP users to have both the vsh for 3.03 and the kernel of 3.10 to launch PSP and PSX games. DAX also mentioned that pressing L at boot and at recovery from sleep is kind of annoying so he fixed that as well.

A very simple yet valuable application. DAX has done it again. Here are the program's installation guide as well as some of its features:

Instruction

On the PSP original NAND, install 3.10 OE-A (or A', doesn't matter because the patches of A' will be applied)
On the UP nand, install 3.03 OE-C
Copy 303_10 mix to GAME150, and run it from the UP nand
Done

Benefits

3.03 vsh, which you can customize
When you execute a psp or psx game, or a homebrew, OE will switch the nand to the psp one (containing 3.10 OE) automatically, so you will be able to play psx and psp games in the higher firmware, and since it will run on the psp nand, you won't have problems with psx games or with 333 MHz
When you recover from sleep mode, OE will also be back to the nand you were, so you don't need to press L (in fact, you must not press it )
You can access both flashes via usb in the recovery

I think the headline and also the whole article including the readme should not use only UP without explaining it even one time. I never cared much about what kind of modchips are out there as I was so far quite happy without one.

Im at version 3.10 OE-A and i want to go back to 1.50...I put the 1.50 eboot in PSP/GAME/RECOVERY but when i run the recovery it goes black but then it just turns off and i reboot it and its still at 3.10 OE-A..
CAN ANYONE HELP??Or AM I DOING ANYTHING WRONG????????/

You do have the rest of the files that are required to recover besides the 1.50 eboot right?

1. decryptprx.prx
2. extprxs.pbp
3. libpsardumper.prx
4. EBOOT.PBP
5. UPDATE.PBP (Firmware you want to recover to)

I dont know if its required or not but this is whats in my recovery folder and it works just fine

Try finding an old post of 3.02OE or lower, the recovery folder is included in the archive.

ratchet & clank works fine on 3.10 OE-A, i know it doesnt just work on mine either, it works on my kids & my friends, unless it crashes somewhere further thru the game it runs fine for me

personally would trust myself the least with an install of this type. it is VERY difficult!

oh, and if you look for someone to do it for you, do NOT go to modchipstore.com. they are crooks (litterally stole my psp, and gave me some random other one, which isn't even modded properly)

that makes no sense - I'm not being a prick, but if you full brick you full brick. If you brick and can't get into se or oe recovery then there's nothing to stop you reflashing in programming mode and that should be fine

I think that is possible. Doesn't UP flash come with usb support? even for a full brick? I'm not sure, I have never used one, but I was under the impression it does.

If you full brick a psp with OE you cant get to recovery. I'm not sure if USB flashing is stored on the chip itself as software or if it is all hardware controlled. As software, with a brick, it might not work. It could be stored on one of the other chips that UP has.

While this is appreciated, it would be even better if the next OE fixed a problem with larger memory sticks where ISO files will not run. Same exact data in a 1Gb stick will run, but not in a 4Gb stick (nor from a 4Gb HDD). The problem is that 4Gb sticks seem to be slower, and the game bombs out before it's fully loaded. Maybe it needs to have the wait timing relaxed a bit.

Yes, this could be because some 4Gb sticks are not real SONY, but that shouldn't cause this one feature to crap out, when everything else works.
