Daedalus

Well, the wheel was set rolling on 1st May with the first release of Daedalus. And the juggernaut has been going on and getting stronger with every release. Now we have the 4th release of the N64 Emulator, and it's better than ever.

Here's a changelog:

[!] Disable PSP FPU exceptions, enabling many more roms to run.
[!] Fixed ambient lighting bug.
[!] Fixed scissoring.
[~] Only create temp rom file if compressed (not swapped).
[~] Fixed decaling offset.
[~] Lots of combiner additions/fixes.

Although the changelog is quite small, StrmnNrmn believes that it will help compatibility. He also promised that he'll optimise the code so that it's faster. That'll be in the next update, though. The single archive contains the 1.0 and 1.5 versions, plus the source code.

Thanks for the heads-up Billy!

 » Nice Progress

I've had a chance to test Zelda Ocarina of Time. It ran well albeit slow, I can't wait to see how this emulator progresses in the future. It's a great achievement.

 » Impressed

Im still really impressed that its even made it this far. It went from virtually nothing, to so much, in so little time.

 » zelda works now

Zelda ocarina of time works now albeit very slowly but for this emu to only be a little over a week old this is some great progress. Also Mario 64 is a little faster and the graphical glitches are gone. When this is running at a good speed with sound and save support I don't think I will be buying any new PSP games except for maybe the new Ratchet and Clank game but that is coming out NEXT YEAR.

I agree with you 12 although i've never bought a game besides gta anyway. I use isos but still this will keep me from ever upgrading and buying a game.

Cheers on the Update, we need a decent compatibility thread in the forum that actually tells us the FPS, and as for the first post, No1 cares please go away

Cheers Infy

You can't save any game yet. I think he is waiting until the games are running a little faster to work that in. I did read on another site where he said that he would work on savestates before he did the sound support.
