Daedalus R10 - Image 1

Yes, we know what date it is. But aDcOoL and RomTheStampede both tell us that StrmnNrmn updates his blog for today to say that he's launched Daedalus R10. The files look legit, he even releases the source code under the GNU General Public License. And heck, he wanted it out end-of-March; it's only a few hours since March 31, right?

Here's the changelog:
  • [+] Added frameskip option.
  • [+] Added framerate limiting option.
  • [+] Added adjustable stick deadzone.
  • [+] Allow pause menu to be activated even when rom emulation has hung.
  • [!] Fix crash when no roms found, added explanatory message.
  • [!] Fix flickering when small number of roms found.
  • [^] Fix texture hash frequency check.
  • [^] Finally got code compiling with -O3 optimisation flag in GCC.
  • [^] Use VFPU for InvSqrt (thanks hlide!)
  • [^] Improved VFPU code for clipping and tnl (thanks Raphael!)
  • [^] Improved inlining of AddTri.
  • [^] Reduced time spent searching for overridden blend modes.
  • [~] Remove debug console in public release builds (smaller footprint and slight speedup.)
Download files below (jack-in-the-box not included), don't forget to read the Readme for all the important stuff, so StrmNrmn wishes everyone a happy retro portable gaming day, and we hope no one's replaced your PSP with a gigawatt taser as their prank for today...

Games are running way better on R10, Zelda Ocarina of Time is kinda playable now :)

Hopefully we'll get Save state with R11.

Im in Florida U.S.A, and on StrmnNrmn's site, as i constantly refreshed it, it released exactly after 5:00 PM. on sunday, march 31. just as he promised. most of you are on the other side of the planet so your day will be diff.

And the frameskip option, just get in daedlus menu, press R or L, this will switch to a diff menu, and you will see allll the customizable options there.

Don't worry about Threatened. He's a bit pissed off that he just found out he's been adopted. If he didn't care about it, he would keep updating it you doorknob.

 » Need Big Improvement ?

Need Big Improvement ? It seems that the emulator is not running at full speed for 1.5 eboot ( Maybe for the others too ..) but there is a way to enable 333 mhz : Just load Daedalus using IRSHELL !!!

Mario Kart without IRSHELL 6 Fps
Mario Kart with IRSHELL 20 Fps !

It should be cool to post your tests Below for the others games...

» Anybody got this on camera?

Is it possible for anybody to record this version in action and submit it to YouTube and then provide a link on this page?

   by RyanfromtheShire (Unregistered) - 2007-04-02
 » ignore

Yeah I hope StrmNrm ignores all comments from this site. Any monkey with a computer feels that he has the right to leave his 10 cents on someones AMAZING homebrew app. I guess that is the beauty and the fault of the internet.

Anyways, great work and I hope to see a full speed emulator someday!

 » Daedalus Icon/Boot Screen?

Can someone hopefully post a link on how to change the Daedalus icon (visible under Game/Memory Stick)?

I'd like to put some kind of N64 picture there so when friends are playing my PSP they aren't asking me what Daedalus is.

Thanks for any help

» The hype was worth it

This is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than R9. The frameskip option improves te speed of the games dramatically so that they are actually playable. Thank you StrmnNrmn!!!

THis is sweet most of the roms ran with some glitches and some audio disortion, but besides that and the program freezes its a really good working emulator. THANKS

 » the same

its basically the same as r9 except sound is a little bit less choppy and frameskip option which was also added in the unoficiall one. i still think it could be better but is it true that the psp cant handel perfect sound?
