Daedalus

StrmnNrmn has informed us that he will be updating his Daedalus N64 emulator by bringing out build R6 hopefully tomorrow. Here's what he said: "I've spent the last couple of days polishing a number of graphical issues and I need to set myself a target date otherwise I'll just keep tinkering for ages. I'll have a longer post tomorrow with details of the changes that have made it into R6."

StrmnNrmn has also answered a few questions that were left after his last update. Here's the information we have obtained from StrmnNrmn answering user questions:
  • There will be a minor speed increase as a side-effect of fixing the memory leak, but probably nothing noticeable. It's mostly a graphical update
  • The screenshot glitch has been fixed (it was getting in an infinite loop trying to create the directory for the screenshots on the memory stick)
  • Screen flickering has been fixed
You can look forward to all this and more graphical updates soon, hopefully tomorrow; so stay tuned to PSPUpdates!

Thanks for the tip Morgan!

I haven't really kept up on this emulator lately, I don't think I've ever even tried it out! Can someone update me on how the speed and graphics are going so far? Nice job StrmnNrmn, keep up the good work.

 » more games?

Does anyone know wether or not these graphical improvements could increase compatibility with other games, or just improve on games that it can already run, such as mario64?

The R could be release or revision..

Anyways, I'm not dying for this emulator because.. I have a laptop and it can emulate n64 games the way I want them to already.. so yea. Portable + made for it.

 » Bleh.

Where's the speed, that's really all I care about. I want playable games. I realize it takes time to compile codes and such to get it to a playable speed, but that's what he should be focused on. ..

it wouldn't matter if the emu was full speed because you could only play it for 5 min then it would crash, but with this update you could play the emu for 30 min. he will work on the speed be patient.

 » You fools..

Great guys... way to ***** about something that your getting for totally free

Great job to Strmm, whos managing to get N64 games running AT ALL on a PSP, I heard people saying it was impossible months ago. So stop your *****ing about "omg i need sound / omg we need faster speed not better graphics" and just congratulate the man on doing what is infact a very grand task of making your an emulator, so you can all play your zelda games on your psp like youve been moaning that you want to do for so damn long >.<

 » That's good.

I'm always happy to see what great things StrmmNrmm puts into his releases...

Maybe now that he's got the graphics in good shape he can work on some speed increases?

All in all, great work.
