News broke earlier today about a homebrew enabler created using the
GripShift exploit by a developer known as Miriam. However, it seems someone tried to pull a fast one. Dark AleX himself got wind of the news and revealed that the exploit used a leak from Team C+D, and proper credits go to joek. Dark AleX posted this on his forums:
This is about this. http://www.pspgen.com/psp-3000-5-02hen- ... 84918.html This is about how I trusted someone called "miriam" and I gave him a kernel exploit of C+D, which was found by joek (the ONLY ONE that deserves credit of that), just to play for HIMSELF, as it is being used to decrypt 3k modules, but the first thing he did was to show to others to get a bit of fame. Now i realize not to trust anyone anymore, thanks. And this is how mistrust happens in the homebrew scene. Stop wondering why developers have a tendency to be secretive. In Sceners.org, Dark AleX's webmaster Alek got hold of PSPGEN's MaGiXieN. Alek had the following to say: I spoke with MaGiXieN last night, and well, i didn't knew this, but since this is what has happened, from dark-alex.org, thanks french "developers", thanks Miriam, or well, maybe i'd call you HellDashX, instead of Miriam, as it's your real identity. You've deceived and lied to spanish, french, and other people, and the ones that have helped you even on that GEN lame copy cfw, as you couldn't even finish your own modules. You don't have any right to use that exploit, as it isn't yours, as anything that you have claimed is yours. You won't get any more help from us. Dot. |

I knew it!I knew it was all because of DaX!After all the whole 5.02 GEN-A was a copy of DaX's work with XMB recovery, modules from 5.02 that everyone could decrypt AGAIN thanks to DaX's module decryptor and changed name from M33 to GEN!So no wonder they copied again!
damn french :D
that GEN firmware is also a joke
just like almost every single french lua app
awkward controls and stuff
go and bake baguette, that's what you're good at :D
well its good news i guess i will go buy myself that game tomorrow :p and maybe a psp 3000 tomorrow depending if i really want it xD. Back to the topic well there's always people like that, but that does't mean we are all like him/her cause Miriam is a girls name so i don't know if the dude is having identity issues or w.e. Just keep working on it :p
This is an act in offense, you sir are charged with Douchebaggery, and *****gotry.
GO DaX!
"You won't get any more help from us. Dot."
I think he meant "Period."
um was that message translated?
No, it wasn't.
Like me, Alek speaks Spanish. So, we try our best to write and speak in English.
Pretty sure he meant "period."
'Punto' is used in a similar manner in Mexican Spanish dialects, not sure if this is just a quirk from a different dialect.
Probably used a translator?
English unlike most of us is probably not his native language.
It's Chinese, seeing how 1 in 5 people are Chinese.
I knew i was right Allek is Spanish not asian.
yea i knew it!!!
no
This was for about accusation that he used the prx's from m33 in his old 3.72 and 3.71 cfw
Got too excited, sorry bout that. Taken down.
DAX deserves credit.
dax is great but you obviously dont get it. its a kernel exploit found years ago. joek found it he desedervs the cred not dax.
Actualy mariam aka ketchup aka helldashx did make this software just with information that none of you shouldve ever even heard about.
so is miriam really helldash that made the hex firmwares?
That goes to show how deceitful people can be (in this case: GEN). I had respect for them releasing the 5.02 GEN-A firmware, as I never tried any of their other cfws, which we already knew is DAX's work reversed, but reading this just put me back to DAX's 5.00 M33 permanently and sticking with him.
Team GEN or whatever, you guys just lost the LITTLE cool points you have left, if any.
Dont claim others' stuff as your own. Loser
Funny how they are the only ones with a cfw that eliminates pirating but then they do this...
Go to http://sceners.org/?itemid=180 to get more info on what happend and the response of _HellDashX_.
After reading this again, I really hope this doesn't end up with the scene breaking apart. Anybody remember the PS2 Scene? Even though there were some good homebrew to run on the PS2, look at how it all went. Ideas/credits stolen here and there, internet arguing just about every other day because one group brought out something faster.
Please don't let that break out and infest this scene. I'm sure many will agree.
yea i agree and i think this drama should be over.
Long live dark alex!
i just got grip shift today at gamestop for only 7.99
they only had one left and i wuz sooo happy!
also the umd disc is in a clear plastic thing instead of white is it supposed to be like that?
A lot of drama going on ...
Just hilarious
"... that GEN lame copy cfw"
Victory is mine!
I think he used to be a regular here!
What a *****. Dark Alex's team is the one and only.
My opinion is, that this can only be an advantage for all PSP consumers. Now both teams (GEN and DAX) wanted to be first, by having a PSP-3000 with CFW!
The PSP-3000 will be hacked very soon!
This creates a 'security risk' in the scene, which means that certain things could become closed source, and other dev's cant help etc...
I see where your coming from, but its really bad news for the people who make the community homebrew, which, after all is what every scene needs and cannot survive without.
haha while were on the topic of GEN cfw, check out the recovery menu, too lazy to change m33 network update?....lmfao, dax is and will always be the greatest psp dev...
