Max Power Digital - Image 1Did you get yourself Datel's Lite Blue Tool? Wondering why it's not putting your PSP Brite into service mode as promised? It's because you didn't purchase the Lite Blue Tool, you purchased the Max Power Digital. Uhuh.

A silent update to the codejunkies website has changed not only the product name of the Lite Blue Tool, but also its product description. The description now has no mention of putting the PSP-3000 into service mode, instead it:

lets you enable Service Mode on the PSP 2000 and also works as a normal battery on the new PSP3000 (also known as the BRITE).

What a jip. Though I have to say, I am totally not surprised by this. Outraged, yes. Surprised, no.

Always trying to find a way to rip off and steal from the homebrew community.

 » but,

with a name like Max Power, it has to be great (bad Simpsons reference).

   Re: billylee8 - 2009-01-07
 » Yeah, great name

Remember folks, there's the "right" way, the "wrong" way, and the "Max Power" way (which is the wrong way, but faster)!

 » My Hope is

That some Homebrew users out there bought this junk and now decide to form a class action suit against Datel for false advertising. If I buy a LiteBlue Tool and it says that on the box but doesn't do the actions that it claims then yes that is HIGHLY ILLEGAL in most parts of the world. I can see Datel going out of business this year. I for one am reporting this to the BBB and other inter government offices. Have a nice Day Datel.

 » Actually...

I think it DOES have the PSP go into service mode, you just can't do anything since you don't have the Magic Memory Stick to provide the menu.

I know exactly what they were planning on doing!!!

Datel was planning on prepping everything to have the 3000 model pandora's battery, but in fact, they would wait for DAX or someone to come along and find out how to do it, then release the batteries with the same technology that they stole and say they discovered it.

You know, you're the first person to ever think that?

 » I know it sucks

It isn't false advertising because the battery does put the service mode...halfway. It's whole pre-ipl thing thats preventing cfw installation. Of course they're relying on DAX or any other hacker. It's been that way for quite awhile now.

No. It does not. Not at all.

That the system DOESN'T put 3K's into service mode, the Pre-IPL has nothing to do with this BS

 » It's your own fault

Anyone who bought the battery without consulting someone or some sort of informative access is a fool because the 3000 was already determined unhackable for the time being from the begining of release unless of course you bought it to prep for hacking then you are just thinking ahead. Bottom line if a company says something and much of the internet says its false don't buy it don't believe everything you see. Common sense lessons for those who bought it are required

Didn't Alek (I think that was his name) from the Dark_Alex forum warn about this battery, that it probably didn't work and all that?
