PS3 + PSP + PS2... Go, PlayStation! - Image 1Fansite "Killzone Unit" just had a bit of Q&A with SCEA. After asking their readers for possible questions to ask, it was none other that David Karraker himself who spoke for the company and answered some rather burning questions. There were a lot of issues raised, and some clarification on certain rumors we've been hearing for the past couple of days/weeks/months now. Some of the more interesting parts of the interview:

KZU: Now that Sony and Immersion have settled, is rumble going to eventually make it's way to the PlayStation 3 SIXAXIS controller?
Dave: We are currently in discussions with Immersion on how we can incorporate their technologies into our products. No word on when that will happen.

Take note, he said "when" and not "if". Is the rumble feature as good as confirmed then?

KZU: Regarding the XMB, are there plans to allow users to customize their backgrounds similar to the PSP?
Dave: Yes, we are currently exploring numerous options that allow people to make their PS3 experience more personalized.

Will this open up homebrew custom firmware and XMB custom icon packs in the future, much like what's been going on in the PSP community for the past couple of months?

KZU: What does the future hold for the PSP? Are there anymore plans for PS3 & PSP integration?
Dave: We just announced the price drop on PSP which saw a really good bump in sales. We have also announced that we are looking to launch the entertainment download service this year, in addition to God of War coming to the platform. Thanks to Remote Play and the direct wi-fi connection, PS3/PSP integration is something developers can take advantage of right now. I would think as we start looking at this next generation of software you will see more and more game makers taking advantage of it.

More PSP games taking advantage of the PS3 inter-connectivity feature. Why didn't I see that coming?

These excerpts pose some interesting developments and forecasts on the PSP, PS3, and the whole direction that Sony is going with their PlayStation brand. The rest of the full interview is waiting behind the Read link below.

"in addition to God of War coming to the platform"....when was this officially announced?

It says it in the God of War II package when you buy the game. Also its been confirmed that God of War 3 is coming for the PS3 and that its going to run at 1080P and 60 frames per second.

 » Cool

It's been announced a few times, it's even on the back of the GOW2 booklet.

It's sad that we get real information from a sony rep and it gets maybe 5 comments and dies off and we get a new OE firmware which gets 300 comments before it dies. PSP is getting killed by piracy.

 » Food for thought

Is any else concerned that Sony's take on the PSP - PS3 integration plan is nothing short of making the PSP a glorified VMU rather than treating it as a separate gaming channel a al Wii and NDS?

 » hmmm...

I have chosen to stop giving people inside information
because it was being meet with laughter and flamed upon,
even though very much of what I have said in the past has
now come to light. It's truely sad that people here treat you
like a leper untill the truth comes out.

I had been giving the same inside information for months
now only to be laughed at or ignored and now the officials
come out and tell us what I have been saying for "months".

I'll take this time to say that I will no longer be speaking
about future PSP and PS3 release info in advance and
will now leave it to SONY to fill you when ever they feel
like it.

Good luck getting any kind of timely info.

Wicked Insider

I've seen this guy say on a number of occasions stuff that haven't even been released or thought of yet and every time it turns up and he was right. I believe you Wicked, hang around awhile longer and try again, I promise I won't knock you, I've seen your info become true my self and injoy reading what you have to say because I know that later it always gets confirmed. Please stay, PLEASE keep me informed cause we all know, those sony bastards always take to long to tell us anything.

Re: Count Dudoo (Unregistered) - 2007-04-25
 » i agree

i have seen this guy make predictions in the past and he's always correct, then SONY opens the lid and finally sheds the light which makes me start to wonder wether Wicked truely is an insider of SCEA or not, how else could he always be right. Read some of his prior posts for proof. Hence his or her name. i have also seen him heavily flamed on for his/her statements and is truely uncalled for. recently I spotted him trying to back up a Dev becus25's work when everybody else was flaming him and Wicked Insider got slammed there for just trying to backing up becus25, he was showing appreciation to developers for trying to do something constructive and for that he got bashed. I know how he feels and I'm sorry to hear he won't be informing us from behind the seens anymore. its all the damn flamers falt that are here acting like little Sh.t's. i wish you the best of luck and hopes you'll reconsider. Hey, how come you haven't registered and posted as a QJ reporter?

The PS3 blows. If I had $600 to blow on video games, I would buy a Wii + 360... I can't wait until I find a program useful enough to replace Remote Play...
