Deal: Buy a Sony PSP from Best Buy and get a free battery pack - Image 1A lot of people have been complaining about the battery life of the Sony PSP. Well, there's really no work around because of the amazing features that were packed in the handheld console. All things considered it's a small price to pay for having a machine more powerful than a PS1 in your pocket, right?

If you've been planning on picking up your very own PSP, Best Buy may just have the perfect workaround for the problem. They're currently bundling a battery pack with every PSP you purchase from their shop.

Yup, just like that you'll have enough power to last you through an extended gaming session or to watch a movie on your next road trip. So how do you avail of this great deal? Simply follow these steps:

  1. Select the PSP.
  2. Select the battery pack.
  3. Click the Add Items to Cart button (on Best Buy)
Of course there's a small catch to the whole thing. The free battery pack may ship separately and would thus include a shipping charge. Of course, free stuff is always a good thing, so click on our read link to head over to Best Buy where you can check out the promo for yourself.

this is nothing compared to the 3600mah same size psp batteries you can buy off ebay for as little as $10-$15. Still news tho.

LOL, ya, the official batteries won't harm your PSP in anyways, while those 3600mah are guaranteed to be off brand and possibly ruin your PSP. Not to mention, that the 3600mah isn't going to work as well/hold as much because it wasn't made to be good quality,...thus, its only as good as a 2000mah battery or so in terms of official brand. I'd know, I bought an off brand rated at 1800mah and it only lasts about half as long as the official 1800mah..

 » Yeah...

As mentioned above...just stay away from non-sony batteries. Sony makes VERY good batteries, never have I been dissappointed with one of their batteries...whether AA with my digi-cam, or the special tiny little square ones that come with the pocket cybershots, and then of course the PSP batter, which has half the power of the super duper sony AA batteries I have for my SLR-like digicam, but runs many other systems, both electrical and mechanical and lasts as long if not longer....

Paying a tad extra for the Sony name of your batteries is a nice thing...one of the few times I actually recommend buying brand name....as fire is probably not going to happen, but the battery bursting and leaking corrosive crap into your PSP is highly likely...
