It's sights like what you are about to see - or stories like the recent DevHook 0.51 does FW 3.01 one - that make you go down on your knees and sing praises to the Lloyd. Verily, the Hallelujahs from across the scene haven't died down since hours ago when Booster unveiled The One, the DevHook that will emulate the latest PSP-can-talk-to-PS3 firmware, DA BIG 3-0H (one).

Now witness the video of one such Hallelujah, uploaded by NilzXX into YouTube - and dude, thanks for sharing this with us and with the rest of the world, and may the scene bless you for your generosity. Faram.

As you can clearly see, he starts from Dark_Alex's SE-C, boots up DevHook 0.51 on the Stick, and now we're seeing the "dash-3" options, such as the Remote Play option (although "An internal error has occurred" - we'll leave it to Nilzxx to explain), even the option to plug in a "PSP-compatible camera" (does this mean we can use Chotto Shotto with DevHook 0.51?). And you can safely retreat return to 2.71 SE-C when you need to.

Nice camera. It actually was really clear and I liked the video. Very short but effective. I don't want to use devhook though, i just don't like it. I know it will be in less than a week though until Team FWI come out with their own.

 » Hey

I saw heaven when i emulated for the first time 3.01 on my psp with Devhook 0.51. I got the same error message when i try to go into the system settings. i also got it when I tried to access the web browser. i hope those bugs clean out in future versions.

I think that the fw that he is using in devhook in that vid is the 3.00/2.71 hybrid... only because i have SE-C and i tried this devhook and i can access all menus and even look at the fw version. Also becuase i know the hybrid is the only one to my knowledge that will crash when going to system settings. I enabled flash and wma with this too and it works perfect. Web browser works too.

I haven't run into any bug other than maybe the default settings like menu that you set timezone, language, etc. showed up when i first started it up. So this works a lot better than 2.82 dehook .50.

Great job Booster! Boo to sony!(waiting on the next pos fw)

 » ??

I get the same result as the vid. and I dumped 3.01, so it must be something else.

   Re: eggwonder (Unregistered) - 2006-12-04
 » well...

well when i did the dump... i did encrypted with sigcheck.i deleted all my old devhooks first. then put in the devhook .51 files then moved f0 into 301 folder. then i deleted the psardump folder and started up devhook. went to the flash rom area and removed the files from 2.82 devhook then installed the new 3.01 to the flash1. then made sure i had 3.01 selected and started up. i got the default settings menu. after i told it timezone, nickname, language, etc. it went to xmb with all the menus working. if i had a video camera id show you guys but unfortunately i dont.

Only thing that it could be is that something wrong happend when you dumped it or the way you dumped it.

what do u mean by safely return to 2.71SE-C ? is that supposed to be sarcasm? the blue screen?

   Re: eggwonder (Unregistered) - 2006-12-04
 » safely...

it doesn't show it but when you try to exit devhook to return to 2.71 SE-C it will reboot without bsod(my def:black screen of death).
It was mentioned because the .50 devhook wouldn't successfully return to 2.71 SE-C.

»  MGS: Portable Ops gets 9.0 from IGN.

Ouch, was expecting at least a 9.5 because all other MGS games got 9.5 and up. Graphics only got a 8.5 which stinks because that is the PSP's strength. I mean DS has the innovation, the PSP's strength was its graphics and it only got 8.5 which is kinda blah. 8.0 for presentation which I knew was bad because it has comic book scenes instead of real cut-scenes like I said.

 » just for the record

this psp is running 2.71 se-c if your getting problems running devhook it could be becuase you have a bad 3.01 dump that is corrupt or wasn't decritped fully by pressing the x button on the psardumper. or your just missing your flash1 files to get those just enter devhook go to flash install and hit the install configfile to flash1 option then run devhook set up your settings and reboot your psp. after that you run devhook again go to flash install again but this time hit the backup dh config file from flash and this will dump the flash1 files into your dh folder. once thats done you can hit the uninstall dh files from flash1 cuz you don't need them anymore. from then on you'll be running devhook fine you can even copy the dh folder on to another psp that's got 2.71 se-c and not have to flash the files again since their all in the dh folder already.

I ordered chotto shot offa ebay so I can let you all know about that, maybe a youtube video of it in action will fit the bill. I got DH .51 werking on my 1.5 psp but not my 2.71 se-c psp. I guess that this is ok. I do remember back last year when on the Noobz site it used to say that 2.80 will never be hacked. I thought that was the funniest thing I'd ever seen over there. Funny how things werk out especially. Glad to see Booster back and Glad to see Fanjita and Crew are up and at em. Hey yo Dark_Alex you gettin in on this one?

» Problems with SEB'' / SEC and devhook .51

I managed to correcntly install devhook with firmware 3.01. Everything was fine and i managed to boot devhook fine. However, while devhook ran all games i had fine, i found that my SEb'' wouldnt run homebrew. I removed 3.01 from flash1 and found that most of my games ran fine, except Tales of Eternia, which came back

"Games could not be started error 80020148"

This was also the case for SEC which i installed. Any ideas? Running Devhook shouldnt permenantly affect my SEB/SEC? Should it?

   by Uzumaki (Unregistered) - 2006-12-05
 » Tales of Eternia

LOL just use UMD Loader or Fast Loader 7 for Tales of Eternia that game requires like 1.5 firmware rofl.

 » hmm

i noticed that when you have your psp connected to your pc via usb, and you go to camera, it will connect to the pc and prompt with an install new hardware dialog.

maybe it would be possible to use a webcam or something as your PSP camera (obviously not a really portable option, but still neat if its possible)

just a thot

 » Its been released already...

on

www.PSP-hacks.com

and various torrent sites e.g. www.torrentspy.com

You can nab it now!

Even though I have admittedly own a few ISOs, this does open the gate for me to make purchase of MGS Portable Ops, in the near future; Just like previous Dev Hooks have allowed such purchases like Syphon Filter, Socom and Daxter. And there is healthy homebrew ;)

Thanks Booster + Dark Alex

did you put devhook in a game150 folder or the plain game folder?
i had troules running devhook on SE-C until i read you have to make a game 150 folder (i didnt worry bout the SE-B firmware and SE-A i only tried and then recovered back to 1.5)

» My 1.50 PSP works with my PS3

I've installed BOOSTERS new Devhook 0.51 with 3.01 firmware on it and it worked on first try (Thank you :D BOOSTER!!). I did many tests and everything seems to works neatly.

The remote play took me 3 try to get to work. I could manage to view photos / videos / music / Web browser and XMB perfectly... It lags a bit but very usable. I'm going to one of friends house who also owns a wireless network to try and load music across Internet from my PS3 !!! If this works OMG!!!

I love gadgets when they work !!!!

PEACE :D

 » Devhook Error Possibilities

There's alot of discussion about DH 0.51 in the forums. from what I can make of it, it seems the main reason behind the errors is either a bad Flash1 write or a bad write to memory stick for the Flash0.

My advice would be, if you're having any problems with it, start from scratch. Extrach the Data.PSAR again, decrypt it again, load it into a freshly copied DH folder. just literally start again.

Then empty your flash1 with DH, then flash the files to Flash1 again.

This sorted out all my problems, and I have all the 3.01 features working perfectly. :)

Big thumbs up to Booster, have been waiting for months, but it was WELL worth it! :D

 » READ THIS!!!

the internal error only occurs when you try to open system setting or the webbrowser. (thats why i showed that at the end)

» Glad we got that streight!

NOT!!!!

Ok, so what's true and what's false? The fact that everything works fine on the XMB and those people getting errors have bad installs because they lack reading comprehension of readmes in general, or the fact that there are errors in XMB for no explainable reasons for some people and the further fact that some games simply will not play? Because if that's the case, something is not right with the emulation. After all, people will full blows 3.01 on their flash (dumbasses btw) don't have any issues playing any of their UMD games, both old and new.

So, which is it people?!?!?!
