DevHook 0.46

Lots of you were ecstatic when Booster recently updated this special application called DevHook to v0.46. Your comments said it all -- excitement, happiness, amazement among many others, but aside from that, lots of PSP gamers were asking if there's a way to get out of emulated firmware 2.71 back to 1.50 without switching off the PSP. Well, we may just have the solution for that.

logicbomb.de shared through our forums about this app: a DevHook 0.46 Plugin that will allow you to reboot to 1.5 without turning off the PSP. But let us just clarify that logicbomb.de wasn't the one who created this plugin. According to him, at first he didn't really have an idea who made this, but thanks to some info that was passed on to him, he divulges that we could now credit this creation to developer, Saturne_1606.

Shifting our focus to the plugin, this one will enable you lucky PSP owners to reboot to 1.5 from anywhere in the 2.71 XMB by holding the HOME and START buttons. How to install this? All you have to do is extract the contents of this folder to the root (ms:/ ) of your memorystick and overwrite the existing vshex.prx file. This one is actually like jas0nuk's original reboot to 1.5 mod which only worked on 2.5 emulation. Also the developer can't be held responsible for anything bad that happens to your PSP while using this plug-in, keep that in mind always. With that aptly stated, let us know your suggestions, opinions, and other what-nots through your comments.

Honestly, what the hell is this accomplishing? Wow, I can now get back to 1.50 by pressing a few keys, because holding a switch up for 4 seconds is just soooo damn difficicult. This is a waste of time.

 » ENOUGH!!!

For those of you who can't resist bashing Logicbomb.de, I have some news to share with all of you. If any of you found this wonderfully useful little tidbit as you claim, why did you not share it with the rest of us? The day will truely be sad when we are all too selfish to share what we know about the PSP with others. So you found it two weeks ago. Whop de doo. You didn't post it here or let the mods know, so you should be hanging your heads in shame for the feeling of 'look, I have something you don't have.' This is how many other consoles had their mod scene evaporate. Everyone was too covegous to share their finds with anyone else.

Logicbomb.de, you truely do have a point. You have contributed more to this community by sharing this than any of the above mentioned people should ever dream of doing. With that in mind, please accept my thanks.

Cheers,
Jake Marvolo Hoshgothen

"@ dragoon, your whole family is a waste of time.
you'll come back here crying like a little turd when your powerswitch breaks. not everyone want to powerdown their psp every time they exit devhook. this is obviously too "Technical" for a imbecile like you to understand so its clear why you think this is a wast of time."
by lllegal Machine, at Aug 01, 2006 at 09:49AM

You are SO right! My family is a waste of time, they should all die.
You can make fun of my family, I could honestly care less, But saying it's too "Technical" for me is just incorrect.. I've been programming with various languages for years and believe me, this has nothing to do with the "Technical" aspect. Grow up.

Yeah, nice one.. That was actually an accident, but feel free to make fun of me.. It's sad enough you don't have anything productive to do, though.

@logicbomb
It's great that you are contributing to the community, I just have no use for this..

"so sorry your threads don't make the front page or get more than 5,000 page views in less than a week."

Stop acting like you are better than everyone else. No one CARES if a thread they started gets 'more than 5,000 page views in less than a week'!
And for the record, I never went to the forum thread about any of this.

» those last 2 posts were my inpersonator.

I wonder when QJ will notice and stop this a55wipe from impersonating me... its been going on for like 5 months now, I think its some moderator.

Although I can't help but feel flattered that my opinions are profound enough for someone to take time out of their day to try to discredit me by means of impersonation....

Just do a word search, for LLL. those are the first 3 letters of the bogus screenname that thinks its me

 » Devhook

This looks like a nice little feature but as all the other people were saying it's not really necessary. Does anyone know if Devhook properly functions on the Psp-1000 models? I'm still reluctant to get a new one but if it doesn't work on it I think I have to. (I bought mine at release in Hong Kong)

» THhs one doesnt work that good...

The PSP did crash when I tried it for the third time, so its more stable to use the "2.71 Exit" eBoot from the 2.71 XMB" or just do the L+R+up when quiting a game...
