DevHook FW Installer - Image 1PSP homebrew coder Sleepy (aka Sleepy566) dropped us a line to let us know that Devhook Firmware Installer has been updated to version 0.6i. As Sleepy explained "This program was originally created by Tommydanger, as a n00b friendly way to install new scary firmwares into Devhook easily."

Sleepy is responsible for later modifications to this PSP-based app, which have been improving its compatibility. As for this homebrew's latest changelog:

  • Added full support for firmware 3.40 (please note that devhook doesn't support 3.30+)
  • Bug fixes (not all fixed, check out readme for more info)
  • Added newest Devhook and folders for all the firmwares you could decrypt (though unsupported)
  • Added firmware 1.50 as an example of where to keep FWs (much confusion on that point)
Version 0.6i is expected to work on 1.00, 1.50, 2.71 SE (all), and all OE firmware, although the author is requesting that users avoid emailing him on why this app won't run on 3.03 or 3.11 fws anymore. He further notes experiencing errors when trying to decrypt fw 3.30 - fixes for this problem are underway.

Full installation and usage instructions are available in the file bundle - we invite users to view the file README before using this application. Once again, we thank Sleepy for giving us the heads-up regarding this latest release.

What‘s the point of having devhook anymore we all using custom firmware by dark_alex. I mean even Booster doesn’t update devhook anymore. You’re flogging a dead horse my friend.

Let it die with dignity

QFT!

   Re: axelixc - 2007-04-23
 » location free my friend

some ppl just need this to start their lftv coz cfw removes it. also go for testing of custom xmb gui b4 flashing it. also good for korean or chinese who merely understand english or other language in cfw.

also if d_a does not release latest cfw, everybody shouting "where is Booster !"

so i think it still serve its purpose here. i still keep it.

"Shinobido Homura: Soul of the Ninja" don't work so well in previous Devhook, it's shut PSP down when it try to play. Does it works NOW.

 » Dude.

You can re-add LocationFree without a problem... no need to waste a bunch of space on the MS and deal with the hassle of setting up Devhook.

   Re: ybakker (Unregistered) - 2007-04-24
 » CHEATDEVICE FOR GTA

duh. Cheatdevice doesn't work on any OE after 3.03 OE. so you load cheatdevice through devhook.

and the locationfree tv is left out of the OE's. (i hardly care about that anyway).

   Re: Sleepy (Unregistered) - 2007-04-24
» There is a point of having Devhook

The point is, you can have your custom firmware, and use other firmware versions at the same time. Also, I believe Booster is still working on this program.

   Re: MickMog - 2007-04-24

i can name 3 ...at LEAST!!
1...2.71 usb/iso loading

   Re: Hey (Unregistered) - 2007-04-24
 » You Guys

I haven't upgraded my PSP from 1.5 because there's really no reason to. Everything on the new firmwares sucks. All I want is to play my emulators, my iso's (with Devhook), and other stuff's. I don't need anything else to do it. Psh, fancy backgrounds, internet, location free? Don't need that crap.

   Re: RE: Hey ***** (Unregistered) - 2007-04-24
 » sissy

You havent upgraded from 1.5 because you are scared to flash your firmware. Sissy.

The answer is no, it doesn't, unless you select the option to write files to flash, but it isn't necessary.

Devhook used to be the ***** when everyone had to use 1.5. but now devhook is for puss.ies who are scared to flash a custom firmware. Grow some balls you devhook losers.

   Re: Wow.... (Unregistered) - 2007-04-24
 » How ignorant.

What the hell are you talking about? Before you start ranting, how about you get your facts straight?

If you didn't know, and I'm assuming that you don't from your post, some games don't work with the OE firmware. There wouldn't be a reason for DevHook to be developed still, if this weren't the case.

So before posting on the internet and showing everyone how truly retarted you are, how about you grow some balls. Better yet, a brain.

Can some one confirm that the download contains the 3.40f/w for devhook and it is all working

I hope that they do not stop developing for Devhook as there are a lot of the old 1.5 faithfull that would be gutted

Did you read the description?
I think you did not ^^

This will extract a 3.40 update to all the corect locations. but there IS NO DEVHOOK TO SUPORT THIS FIRMWARE

If your PSP's firmware is 3.40, no. If you mean can it install 3.40, then yes. But Devhook cannot run 3.30+.

does anyone still use devhook to load iso's

i mean who desen't have a custom firmware by now

the only reason i can see aa reson for using dehook is for loading other firmware on one psp

but thats just a waste of time

even though i dont use it other people use bc its a safe way to emulate firmware instead of risking their psp by flashing it

» Please add support for 3.40 in DevHook

Pretty please. I have been and still am waiting to watch full resolution movies without having to using homebrew PMP AVC Advance. I do not want to flash my firmware to custom firmware. If I wanted to do that I would just say screw it and install the Sony 3.40 update.

I wish those who use custom firmware would stop talking for everyone because you most certainly do not. We want new DevHook versions. Thank you for atleast hearing us.

I have not upgraded any loaders since November or December. I still use Devhook and I can emulate up to 3.01. Sure there is games I cant play right now but I have something like 100+ ISO's most of which I probably haven't beaten yet. Sh_t im 32 years old, I just dont have the time to keep up with this stuff anymore.

 » useless !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love devhook just as much as the next person. and I am extremely appreciative of the people who have been creating these programs. but i have to say this doesnt make any dang since. whats the use of this particulat program if all it does is what the past 4 or 5 devhooks do. until support for 3.30 or 3.40 comes out. just dont post anything. itll make us all feel better

 » 2.71 HEN-D Ta-082

im still using the 2.71 hen-d setup on my ta-082. from what ive seen, there has yet to be a foolproof method of getting something that supports higher firrmwares for this setup - yes, i can downgrade it, but there has been a decent percentage of bricked ta-082s. Is there something that im missing? i really want to pump up my psp to the latest possible, but i cant afford to buy another if it bricks!!!! (i cant even install the SE firrmwares to use this devhook, that bricks as well on ta-082s)

it may seem like a lot of brick psps but thats that many what my psp and i downgraded it its worth it all trust me if you doo everything right you wont brick your psp plus the price just went down and you probebly can save money try it
