Every project has to start somewhere! This site is mainly here to get some developers together so that we can start developing device drivers and porting applications to this new uClinux platform. Once we have enough interesting drivers and applications working, we'll put together an end-user friendly distribution for the project. |

Ok. This is actually some serious stuff. Just think about it. We have a lot of stuff for the psp. I mean this console (or portable) is the best thing for homebrew besides the computer. Now you may disagree with me by saying that the xbox is the best. I think it is the best because that it is portable and it is so small and it can do a lot of stuff. On top of the stuff it can do right now it just might be linux capable to. We might end up with some really cool apps to add to our amazing portable system.

I'm actually surprised it has taken this long for Linux to be ported to the psp. theres versions of Linux for ipod and calculators. i would think putting it on the psp would be simple compared to that.

Yes, I agree, and there have been a beginning of a port for PSP earlier with the only problem it can't mount rootfs (kernel panic), and that sounds like a small thing to fix

That doohicky is probably related to either JTAG or a Serial Terminal. Linux has this wonderful thing about being very open, even open so far as you don't need a screen to be able to use it. Terminals connect through the serial port, and the remote device can control it. I find it interesting, however, that this is being done with a Mac Mini. Take that, Windows fanbois! It could be PPC Linux, but it's still not Windows!

i know that i would vitually never switch over to any os unless it can run all standard apps i already have.

Lastly, at the very least they should be able to get a devhook equivilant on linux and run sony's firmware, so you wouldn't loose the ability to play games. Interesting to say the least.
