Final EGM issue to be 'printed' on 1UP - Image 1It's a sad day in gaming to see EGM go. The mag has officially ceased publication as of this month.

That awesome image to the right would have been the cover of the February issue. While it will never be printed, the staff of EGM promises that readers will still be able to get a hold of the issue, only online. It will be released sometime in the near future at 1UP.

Whether you've been a faithful reader of EGM during its long run, or if you just picked up an issue or two, you might want to check out the source link below for the most recent blog entry of James Mielke, EGM's editor-in-chief.

Mielke relates some great EGM anecdotes, and explains why the mag is ceasing publication.

So long, EGM. You had a great run.

I bet if anyone has every mag they can sell the collection for quite a profit.

anyways long lived EGM.
like gaming, egm has a part of my childhood.

i can still clearly remember that damn akuma on resident evil 2 trick which made my friend not sleep for weeks, finishing re2 with just the knife and handgun, no other weapon and no medicine kits, just plain herbs and saving only when the game ends to switch the disc. he finished re2 14 straight times and yet no akuma.

So, do I get my money back? I have a just over six months left in my subscription...and I just got a letter in the mail today suggesting that if I re-subscribed now I'd get a better price for another year. I was gonna stop subscribing anyway after it ran out this year considering how bad it was becoming (after Shoe left as editor in chief it when down hill fast, well more like off a cliff). What a terrible way to go out for a magazine that for many years was my favorite...such a shame. I better get my money back though, they ain't keeping my 20 bucks.
