Final Fantasy VII - Image 1

Fans have been clamoring for it, and it looks like Square Enix and Sony will be delivering. Final Fantasy VII has been rated by the ESRB for PSP and PS3, which means we could be seeing it soon on the PlayStation Store as a PSOne Classic.

Along with the PlayStation One classic, the following games were also rated for PSP and PS3: Spec Ops: Airborne Commando, XS Junior League Soccer, Ford Racing, Dead in the Water, Contra Legacy of War, and Mobile Light Force.

As of this time, there's no date nor official confirmation yet, but E3's just around the corner so we'll probably hear more about it then. Stay tuned.

 » REALISM???? NFS??

FAIL.

What happened to arcade NFS?

 » ok

Cool
the only thing i really want off that list is ff7
the contra game might be cool too, but i have the original disk and it sucked. But PSN support might aid it

but yeah ff7 will flourish and just be all around badass to have

   Re: kon_e3 - 2009-05-31
 » PSN doesnt aid

It gives u same stuff they had on psn disks, its not a psn game, its like inserting psone disks.

If I still didn't have my original FF7 disks, I'd totally buy this.

   Re: Stealth! - 2009-05-31
 » Who wouldn't buy it?

I have the discs but it's scratched up, besides, the thought of carrying one of the dynamic RPG final fantasy games on my PSP is like a godsend. :D

It's about time! But I'm not too interested in this, I copied my original FFVII to the PSP 2 years ago I think. I hope it pulls more people into this amazing game.

 » Still Awesome

I've had my master save of FFVII to play on my PSP, My Original Playstation, And The PS3. It would be very cool to have it installed to the hard drive, and I'll be getting this. I hope, with all my FFVII Loving heart that this will attract new gamers to FFVII and teach people that a story means more than graphics. I'm a veteran of the Final Fantasy series so, completely biased here.

I'm with you brother. Another Loyal Final Fantasy fanboy :)

I wish they'd just hurry up and put the darned game up on the Store.

 » NICE :D

i'm not that old, so back when FFVII was released, i didn't know anything about it (except for the epic trailer with the music "final encounter")
so i never played it.
i will most definately buy this!

 » haha

No offense to you, but depending on how late you came into the video game world, FFVII's graphics might be difficult for you to wrap your head around. I'm just warning you. But besides that, there's an awesome story and game mechanic that'll occupy 50+ hours of your life. :)

   Re: martin447 - 2009-05-31
 » no worries ;)

i still play Final Fantasy 9, and love it, as well as Metal gear Solid and VR missions :P
don't care about graphics as long as the game is good ;)

   Re: raggedjimmi - 2009-05-31

Oh I wouldn't worry about that. I've been playing video games since the very early 90's and now I play all my PC games on a super beast of a machine with settings and resolution to full... but any dolt can play a feckin brilliant old game and get addicted to it. I missed FFVII and only started it 2 years ago but everything about it is amazing.

Some games, the best games, age doesn't matter at all with them.

ooooh does this mean its coming to the US PSN next week if SE announces this at E3? That would be FREAKING AWSOME! I would soo buy a $20 PSN card and download it :)

Playing this for the first time right now (on my PSP) but at least I know there is another good game available for the PSP Go if I decide to purchase one.

 » Nice

But I think I'd still jump through hoops and get the Japanese international version instead; too many mistranslations and spelling errors in the US version for my taste.

Anyone still remember "Beacause you are a puppet"? Yeesh.

   Re: Orlyeh - 2009-05-31
 » PC

The pc version of FFVII fixed a few translation/grammatical errors, but I'm not sure if it got all of them.

the JP version is a pain to get: first you have to register which is a pain and difficult to work, then you need to buy a japanese psn card to get credits

I tried to use my debit card, but it wouldn't accept it since I don't have a JP address.

Seems like a lot of you guys don't own the disc version of FFVII.

   Re: Stayhye - 2009-05-31
 » I do....

I have the original FF7 for psone, and converted for my psp, But there is something special about being on the ps3 system hdd.......no discs to scratch or change out.

 » I have

a Disc copy of FFVIII and IX which I bought at a vintage gaming store but didn't feel like dumping 70$ for a "rare" copy of the game at the time. I liked FFVII but not enough to complete it when I was younger. And while I agree its a great game I don't think its the best FF, or the best game ever. Just a solid game. I'll get it on PSN though and finally beat it.

   by nehebkau - 2009-06-01
 » pah

i'd rather have a full remake of it with current gen graphics... but still the same style - looking from an angle from the top with most of the level pre-rendered... would be awesome!

   Re: sickofitall - 2009-06-01
 » same here

I would rather wait for high-def remake.

 » Add Me

Great chance to get some good Final Fantasy adds to my PSN friends list. My username is Deiradinn, and I've beaten almost all the FF's, except for FFXII, and FFVII Crisis Core which I'm now playing.

 » OH YEAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YESS FINALLY I CAN PLAY THIS(FF7) ON THE GO, W/O having to use p o p
