The PEGI system has found a new ally in Toine Manders, a member of the European Parliament's Committee. According to videogaming247, the politician has recommended that Europe should universally adopt PEGI's rating system. The recommendation was made to the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs. Manders said that the PEGI system "provides an elegant solution to the questions raised by the evolving global games industry." “It is a ringing endorsement of the rating system that we in the UK were instrumental in helping to set up several years ago," Michael Rawlinson of ELSPA. ELSPA has repeatedly backed PEGI in the latter's confrontations with the BBFC over which rating system was better. Related articles:

There's no need for 7+ and 16+ ratings. Most of the games right now were geared towards 12+ and 18+

i agree they might be used quite rarely, at the same time, having them for those rare occasions where they are needed is the "clarity" which some other systems lack.

» it doesn't make any difference
lol, I think most parents don't care what the game is rated

If I ever lived in any country that used PEGI I would import ESRB rated games. PEGI is pathetic. They make the companies edit the games to fit their crappy 18+ rating or they refuse to rate them. What a pile of *****.
