Evolve Blue

Lots of people customize their stuff. People customize their cars. People customize their jeans. In a way, you might say that some people even "customize" their babies (through In Vitro Fertilizaton). Speaking of babies, maybe you've customized your PSP faceplate already. Maybe not yet.

Talismoon's just released their new line of Evolve faceplates. There's a blue one (which is semi clear), a chrome one, and a clear one. Each costs around US $ 19.95 and ships complete with these contents:
  • 1x PSP Faceplate
  • 1x set of PSP diamond series buttons (original psp buttons can also be used)
  • 1x optimal precision jeweler's screwdriver
  • 1x illustrated installation diagrams
  • 1x unique polishing cloth
As soon as their Evolve line picks up, Talismoon is planning to expand it and add more colors to match your PSP mood. We know there's been lots of faceplates floating around the market, and it would hurt to add more to that. Besides, that blue one on top is of the perfect hue to match the color of my eyes. Sweeeeet...

That is my current psp's faceplate, if you are considering it for $14 then go below, the pic on the official site looks bad, it is pretty fancy (Very nice when you buy a clear padset)

 » wow nice

Yea, always wanted a blue one, semi clear too, plus, I wont have to clean it as often since it wont look dirty JUST by touchging it, liek the stock ones...

 » Wow

Uhhh is it me or is this faceplate looks CHEAP and it makes your PSP look like a Cheap wall-mart gimmek, I don know but solid color faceplate look much better, there was this one that was yeallow and dispite the odd color looks awsome on the PSP espacially with the black back of the PSP, but putting all this aside WHEN THE HELL is SONY gonna bring some colored PSP to the US that just wrong.

 » Hmph.

Semi-clear blue is too cliche. How about a solid blue? Or a flat blue? I'm looking around for a new faceplate and I'd definatly go for a flat blue PSP.

   Re: madhive - 2006-10-12
 » Cool!

First, consider decalgirl.com, their XCM faceplates are really cheap in usd (i lived most of my life in japan, moved to us, so i have the habbit of saying usd) and they are almost ht esame as the 30 usd ones.

 » Faceplates

I had a lot of trouble getting the analog stick situated correctly after installing a clear blue faceplate from Liksang. It looks really nice now, but initially it was quite frustrating.

 » question

just the faceplate? what about the back =P it would be nice if it came with a pic of how the back would look like... or do u still stick with the white or black back covering. this would be totally stupid then if it was the case

   Re: madhive - 2006-10-12
 » There is no back

The molding for that will be insanly expensive i think......
   by soopergooman - 2006-10-12
 » Snazzy

ya stick with the same old back casing, yes. but you'd have to totally disassemble the psp to do that. NOT FUN nor EASY!!! Faceplate changing, easy, just don't put the wrong screws in the wrong places or you will have a busted screen. Be very carefull. Also they should make a HYPER-COLOR faceplate. Just for the old school gamers. (hyper-color just google tube it or sumptin)

 » looks cheap

these really need to be reviewed thoroughly before id consider buying one. i am on my second replacement faceplate, the first was an xcm silver faceplate. lasted a month, maybe a little less. i had put the thing in my pocket ONE time and the screen was so cheap that the lining of my pocket scratched the screen to the point that it was unusable. also the spray paint started to crack under the clearcoat. my second was an asterix, which was a *****ton more expensive but well worth the 30 bucks in terms of quality. cant say too much on the screen since that time i wasnt a cheapass and shelled out the extra $4 for the hori screen protector, and the matt black finish by now is getting a lil shiny, but overall its much more solid. also asterix offers replacement screens for most of their faceplates so u dnt have to shell out another 30 bucks just cuz theres a scratch/crack. when it comes to these thing u pretty much get what u pay for, but if u expect them to last as long as the sony ones, u better get a screen protector.

 » right d-pad sticky?

I have a 'crystal clear' faceplate on my psp right now, it was $15 with clear buttons all around, but i chose to use the sony dpad buttons, but the problem i have is something is just not molded right or something and the right d-pad button continuously gets stuck using the clear or the psp ones :( makes tony hawk underground a pain cause i keep trying to spin :( dont realy want to go back to the black cause i like the clear and would shell out the $$ for this if the d-pad moldings are a bit tighter.....any suggestions???

 » @SchmilK

This is where i would take out the scissors and trim the fu**in D-pad. but, heh. you get what you pay for....correct? ;)
   by Joe (Unregistered) - 2006-10-13
 » nice but...

it doesnt say anything on it, it looks really cheap and fake, if it atleast looked like an official sony faceplate, like said psp on it and all, id get it right away.

And where do i order it?

Yes

 » Cheaper option

i was about to point out the warranty, but its already been done. what i advise which i have done is to buy a decal for of ebay, of go to www.decalgirl.com. these are cheep as, and there is a choise of over 200 different skins. from decalgirl you can also make your own design email it in then the company will make it specially for you and you will have a completely unique psp. and trust you can get some awsome looking designs rather than the 10 15 face plates which are floating around

 » You havin a laugh

i just checked that site and thats a rip off what you on about. i just looked and the picture of the silver facplate at the top of this page cost $59.60. aint being funny but it looks tacky as well, asif it will get scratched up at the slightest rub of the pocket. your better of buying a vinal of ebay. like i said i did that its cost me £3.50 plus the £2.50 postage. so £6 in total. ive had it for about 7/8 months and its still in good condition. think people that a massive saving why blow your money on something which is worth a tenth of its seling value
