I think they're doing something, so you can't make a Pandora battery on it.
they already did that. there is a new version of the mother board which prevents this.
my psp cant pandora because it has the new motherboard but the battery can still be turn to pan
Hellmate, wasn't it supposed to be the opposite? That you can use pandora batteries, but you just can't flash the battery itself? In that if someone made you a pandora battery, you can use it, but you can't make your own? Because what you just said is the opposite.
Also, you guys should consider going to www.swatcash.com/admin
They gave me my PSP Slim (which works with pandora all the way ;p), and they gave me a few other goodies, like a black ds lite, and about $300 in checks :P
It's gonna make service mode inaccessible with a Pandora's battery. They may be unable to stop homebrew, but they can cut off all future buyers from downloading pirated games, and that's what costs them the most.
All we can really get from the statement is that the changes aren't gonna affect wifi, power consumption or battery life.
Since changes to RAM size, CPU power, or even general power optimization would all affect the power consumption, one would have to imagine the difference in models will be something to do with software, firmware, or hard coded logic gates.
At any rate, anything GOOD for us, the consumer, would affect RF or power. It's probably a bad omen, and likely pandora or piracy related, but we'll have to wait and see..
just realized, could be a boring substitution with similar but cheaper components that's got the Internet community in a tizzy over something inconsequential.
good point lol
Awww *****! They better not be planning some new thing for PSP slims. What a ***** move to do by Sony to shove it early-adopter's faces. Sony hasn't ever really understood how to take care of it's customers, and thats why I reason this to be in the realm of possibility.
If you think about it, NO video game company (except the guys behind the obscure "gamepark 32") have cared about us. Nintendo doesn't care, Microsoft doesn't care, Sony doesn't care. And while the Game Park company cares about us (read about their product on wikipedia), their hardware is still relatively weak, unfortunately :(
you're so cynical!
if you remember, sony is planning to add it so the PSP could have a USB keyboard or something, so It may have to do with that, or they are just being gay like always
"changes other than a wireless module" means they are gonna make improvements to the wireless and something else beyond that.
my guess is as good as anyone elses. just think of all the things in the psp that can communicate with other devices or new things they could put inside the psp to help it communicate with more devices. maybe bluetooth technology so we can play games with a wireless headset like the ps3. what they add can be endless considering how fast technology changes and the constantly lowering price to make the parts in electronics.(so probably better parts that used to cost too much to jam into the psp)
"changes other than a wireless module" means "we are not changing the wireless module."
This is because the FCC regulates more strictly the types of waves that devices put off. Adding Bluetooth support WOULD most definitely impact electric and RF.
Don't make legal commentary if you can't read legalese. Again, read pwandz' post.
Also Sony is losing money on the consoles sold still, they're not just going to give away bonus parts, they're going to want to REDUCE costs.
maybe theyre gonna put wifi-g instead of B...thats one thing i didnt get why they didnt change when they made the slim.
...no $ h ! t !!!
Wireless G would rock.
That and Bluetooth.
Revving up to BT for the Cell.
This is just confirmation that the
PSphone is around the corner.
I think this might actually be a good thing. Don't get me wrong, I think the things people have done with PSP homebrew is great. But what most people are doing now that their PSP is homebrew-enabled is that their pirating PSP games. Because of this, many developers decide not to make games for the PSP because why would you want to make a game for a system in which you won't make a lot of money? I mean, most people with PSPs are tech-savy adults, so they know how to find about homebrew and things like that. But if Sony somehow finds a way to boom PSP sales and have many people buy a PSP which is pandora-proof and do not have the ability to pirate games, we might see developers looking towards the PSP. Sorry if you don't understand.
they still wouldn't make money cause the people who pirate are poor:(
