We all knew Final Fantasy VII would be a huge hit on the PlayStation Network. The PSOne classic reached the top of the PSN download charts in its first week, but exact numbers weren't revealed. Now we finally have some official numbers from Sony. According to the company's latest press release, Final Fantasy VII has been downloaded over 100,000 times in just two weeks. These numbers gave it the top spot as the most downloaded game on the US PSN for the week ending June 17. The press release also revealed three new PSOne Classics coming to the network this summer. Yes, the recently-rated Wild Arms 2 is in there, along with Mobile Light Force and Spec Ops: Stealth Patrol. Another little factoid included in the press release is that the PSN is now up to 25 million registered users, who have downloaded some 500 million pieces of content to date. Related articles: |

I actually bought it even though I have a PSX ISO and an original copy of the game. Having it in my PS3 felt right. Haven't played it since I downloaded it though.

I guess I feel guilty for all the free things that I always get if you know what I mean. Which is why I'm buying Monster Hunter Unite today.

Same here but I didn't feel that way for ff7. It was monster hunter freedom unite, I don't know why but some guilty feeling came over me and I went out to go buy it today.

I have a copy of the ps1 version as well, i paid £20 for it nearly 10 years ago and it's almost impossible to find a second hand copy for less than that now, this is one of those few games that could actually appreciate in value over the years.

apex05 wasn't talking about the psn download. He was referring to the fact that only second hand copies of FFVII are floating about in game stores now and they are usually priced quite high seeing as the game is over 10 years old. I'm not sure if this is true in most countries but it is definately the case in the UK.
really wish people would stop acting like internet tough guys on this site and just post positive comments.

I might just buy this... but only because every POPs version I have tried has had one bug or another... i'm gonna try the pops one more time though, as I don't feel justified in buying this game again (I paid $40 when it came out, thats enough)
Last tme I played it on POPs though, every single battle gave me an error code (and then skipped the battle pressing select L+R)
it is nice to just coast through the story, but I want to fight!!!!
