We just got the first screenshots of the PSP version of Need for Speed: Carbon and we really think the game looks fantastic. Check them out for yourself.

The screens didn't come with any new info so to sum up what we do know...
  • The game environment will be open like Need for Speed Most Wanted was on the consoles.
  • As always there is an extensive car customization feature allowing you to change the look and performance of your ride but new in this version is that you can change your teams cars and the menu system to reflect you style.
  • Racers will be classified as either Drifters Assassins or Brawlers.
  • The PSP version will have the unique play modes: Crew Tag, Escape, and Delivery.
  • The game will support custom MP3 soundtracks.
  • And just like the console version there's a new emphasis on team based racing.
And it also looks great. If you want some more info then check out previous coverage of Need for Speed: Carbon.

Lol, from those screenshots it looks like the game had somesort of anti-aliasing turned on. WOOT, INYOUR DREAMS. Why won't they show the shots with jagged edges like in the real game... =[

 » EA - oh come on ...

Now we all know these screenshots didn't came from PSP ... I didn't know PSP can do full screen antialiasing or such high detailed textures ... I wonder how will game really look on the PSP.

And one more thing, why can't EA make a decent NFS game like they used to made... Remember the first one that came out - NFS I? or Porsche? Real nice scenery and gameplay, I really enjoyed playing those games.

I never liked racing through streets - I'm talking about NFS Underground and others like that. And most of all, I really hate MTV styled games (music, graphics and characters). EA, I'm very disappointed

You said it now.

I couldn't agree with chpixsd more. I guess EA traded class with the pre-pubescent fantasies of a middle class boy.

yeh I also agree with chipxsd, porche was a great game, my favorite nfs game, it was great, had a huge range of cars (old and newer) not just 350z's and skylines. but despite that nfs is a great series, it is adictive to play, especially with MW for psp online (cept for lag) so I cant wait for this 1

It'll be nothing compares to Midnight Club 3, that was an awesome racing game, it even had better effects on the PSP over the consoles! It even had bikes, custom riders, and neon’s which from looking at all the new NFS screens Carbon won't. And its that old now you can it really cheap.
